Hi I am Linda Myers LaMere. I am also researching the Myers family in Indiana. Here is my lineage:

My Father: Ronald Arthur Myers, 1936 - 1995, son of George Washington Myers, 1908 - 2007, (and Sara Etta Scruggs), son of William Richard Myers, 1869 - 1894 (& Bessie Elizabeth Austin), son of George Myers, 1841 - ? (& Sarah Deaver), son of John Myers, 1817 - 1884 (& Margaret Hart), son of William Myers (& Fannie Reel), Elias Myers, 1765 - 1833 (& Dorvitha Dolly Fulbright), son of Elias Myers, 1737 - 1803 (& Marie Gartner).....

I do have an Elias Myers, DOB abt 1826, brother to John Myers listed above.

After Mary's husband's death, her and Temple lived in Indiana. I am trying to find a death date and were she is buried.

I know that Dorsey's father and son died in Philipsburg PA, but I don't know if Dorsey did.

William Myers middle name was Gray I believe. He lived c1807- 11 November 1889

Do you have an area or time period. My brick wall is my Myers line (my maiden name). I look at naming patterns, occupation, allied lines, migration patterns. We have a "George" in our line. His father was supposedly Edward Myers born about 1800 in VA, maybe the Shenandoah - Frederick Counties, VA area, but not sure. Our line was in OH for a couple of years, but ended up in Ralls County, Mo about 1836 and died there in 1845. In looking at various surnames in same area in VA, many ended up in Ralls Co., MO.

No, unfortunately. Mine is George MORGAN Myers. I think his father was Gustavus Harrell Myers. George M. Myers had 2 sons, John Robt. & James A. and a daughter Frances. His wife was Sadie Elizabeth Foulk(e)s.

Looking for information on my Great Grandfather, Fred S. Myers. Appears to have been born in June 1861 in Pennsylvania (Philadelphia I think).

Married a woman named Mary Frances in 1884 (approximate year).

They had 2 children that I know of: Mary S. born Nov 1885 and John L. born Oct 1889.

Mary married a man named Joseph Percy Flanigen.

Any information you may have would be greatly approeciated.

Looking for information on the descendents of Elizabeth Crabb.
She was first married to a Mr. Myers (I haven't been able to find a first name, yet) when she was about 18, she was widowed by at least 1920.

She later married William W. Cutter in 1932; Mr. Cutter passed away 4 July 1943.

As far as I can gather, there were no children from either marriage, she was listed as a widow in the 1920 & 1930 federal census and also the 1925 Iowa State census. The obit for her second husband also lists no children.

Looking to find descendents of her siblings if possible.

Cosmetologist in Mason City for twenty-one years. Mrs. Cutter was born at Hoopeston, Ill., the daughter of William and Ollie Crabb, she had a brother and two sisters. After a period of service as a cashier, she became owner of a hotel and restaurant. She was wedded in 19032 to W.W. Cutter, a salesman. Mrs. Cutter has served as state president of the association of hairdressers and cosmetologist for five years and on the executive board of the national hairdressers' association for eight years.
Dogs have been her hobby.

"Dr. Augustus P. Myers , said to have been one of the oldest practicing physicians in Alabama, died last night at his home, 1352 Old Shell Road.

"Graduated from the Mobile Medical College and the Homeopathic Medical College of St. Louis, Dr. Myers had practiced since 1888."

I am looking for a Lillie Myers born about 1896 and died Jan 10, 1967. Her maiden name was Myers, She married a Biggs and had a son named Edward Biggs in about 1912 and then married Dalta Shelton of the Shelton Gang of Illinois Fame and divorced him and married a Miller. She had a son named Carl Shelton and Earl Shelton by Dalta Shelton.
They were called "Little Carl and Little Earl after their uncles Carl and Earl Shelton

Some of my Myers family did live in Orbisonia PA and others in Lewisburg PA which is just above Harrisburg. Again they would have family in Los Vegas and in Mid California near Jacob Myers Park in Riverbank CA.

One Myers did run with the Clanton gang at Tombstone AZ. If you can remember, the Clanton's were at the OK Corral shootout with Wyatt Earp.

The core family was located in Pittsburgh and as I said before, were known bridge builders in the early 1900's. My great uncle Frank Myers was killed building a bridge.

Before that, they were a riverboat family in Pittsburgh connected to Nicholas Roosevelt who was Teddy Roosevelt's great uncle. Teddy Roosevelt was Wyatt Earp's close friend. I have pictures of them together.

We are still working on coincidences here. An obituary will most likely tell if he was connected.

I told you that I emailed the Washington County Library to see if they could find any more information on J. G. Myers, who died in the bridge accident...they sent me (5)articles on the accident and the investigation!

I red all the articles and there was one in particular that held all the information on Myers.

From the newspaper "Morning Herald", Hagerstown, MD,
dated Dec. 17, 1908:

THE DEAD:
GEORGE STIFF, of Hagerstown, aged 26 years and single
ROSS H. BICKEL, of Dauphin, Pa., aged 22 years and married
JAMES G. MYERS, of Steelton, Pa., aged 26 years and married

...The dead and dying were taken in
wagons to their boarding houses in
Williamsport, while the other injured
were placed aboard a special trolley
car and brought to the Washington
County Hospital.

...Myers died while being hauled in a
wagon from the scene of the wreck to
the Potomac House, where the injured
men were conveyed.

...Young Wife Prostrated
The young wife of Myers was with
her husband in Williamsport, and is
almost prostrated. She fainted when
she learned of the death of her hus-
band. They have one child.

...All the dead will remain at Under-
taker Kreps until today when they
will be sent to their late homes.

...The bodies of James Myers and
Ross Bickel, whose homes were at
Steelton and Dauphin, respectively,
will be shipped to those places today.

I did some checking and Steelton is in Dauphin county, Pa., southeast of Harrisburg. I checked the findagrave site, but did not find him there. Maybe a Harrisburg newspaper will have an obituary and show where he was buried.

Peter had a sister named Anna Marie Meyer, born Abt. 1832, died in May 1852. She was married to Theodore Schweitzer, born December 21, 1824 in Waltershofen, Freiburg, Baden, Germany. They had 2 children, both born in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, one suvvived named Magadelina Schweitzer.
Magadelina married Peter Blattner on January 26, 1875 in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. Magadelina is my 1st cousin 3 times removed through the Schweitzer line.

What is interesting is my Myers family was into steel in Pittsburgh and I know they had relatives in Las Vegas and California. I also know that my great uncle Frank Myers was killed falling off a bridge during it's building. Most if not all bridge building was out of Pittsburgh in the late 1800's early 1900's. Most of the steel briges were made in Bridgeville PA and shipped and assembled on site.

I am not missing a J G Myers but it's also interesing Frank Myers had a brother named J G Myers and he might have had an Uncle named J G Myers. The J G Myers could be John George Myers or John Grundy Myers.

As far as I know, I am not related, but one just never knows where the genealogy will lead.

I do not know where the Pennsylvania Steel company is.

I did check findagrave for Myers burials in Pennsylvania and Maryland in the year 1908 and found no matches.

I may give the Washington County Library in Hagerstown a call to see if they have a newspaper that expands on the incident and maybe get the full name at least.

prisoners. Many bicycles were piled
against the bars in the rear of Myers'
cell, and he reached through and
wrenched part off one of the wheels,
and using it as a lever broke the lock
on his cell door. He has not been
seen since.

erected over the Potomac river at
Williamsport collapsing Tuesday. The
dead are Ross Bickel, J. G. Myers,
George Stiff and Charles Gussler. Two
of the injured are in serious condi-
tion. The men were employees of the
Pennsylvania Steel company.

What copy do you have? I am using the book Americans of Jewish Descent by Malcolm Stern which contains the family of Major Mordecai Myers who was the Mayor of Schenectady and the son of Myers Benjamin and Rachel Myers.

It also contains the family of Mordecai's brother who's family is Married into the Hays and Etting families.

This family is clearly listed on page 157

Junior Lee Myers

I am wondering if any one knows or knew Junior Lee Myers.
He was a friend of my mother so I will assume he was born about 1922 and lived in Michigan, either in Atlantic Mine/Houghton/Hancock area or Flint. I am sure he was in the US Navy as one picture is of my mother and on the back she has written "with Junior's Navy things on". I am going thru pictures and have found several of them. I do not know him, can't say I ever met him and we are not related. I would like to find a 'home' for any pictures of Junior if a relative is interested in them.
