John, you have just made my day. I'm so very happy that we have connect. I have been calling people using the reverse address/phone numbers to see if they are relatives. All were very kind. I had 7 brothers and 1 sister however, some are still living and I will not post their names on this board. I can tell you that my father served overseas for 6 years. John, I have only been searching for my ancestors for a couple of months and I am not sure if all the information I have to date is correct. I know who my grandfather was and who my great-grandfather was and I also know who my dads siblings were and who his aunts and uncles were on his mothers side but where do you fit in?

Hi, thought we might help each other, my maiden name is Stacey Nash, and my family came from barnum Iowa. My grandfather is Corneilus Nash who married Bernadine O Hern, and they had Gary, Dennis, Barbara, and Timothy. My grandparents left Iowa and setteled into Columbus, Ohio where we still reside.

I'm the granddaughter of Claudia Belle Nash who died in 1976, in Auburn, California. Claudia married Thomas Homer Baker about 1920 in Texas. They had one son who died in infancy in Texas, then Norma Gene Baker, 1924(my mother)born in Amarillo and Bonnie Jane Baker, 1926? born in Southern California. Just yesterday at Aunt Bonnie Jane Baker Stokes' house we were looking at a photo taken in L.A. in probably 1949 that has Criswell and Eugenia in a group photo. I will ask for more info.

My grandfather was David Allen Nash, born in Texas around 1903. That is all the real information I have. He was a construction worker. Married Catherine Irene Phillips in California and had 1 daugher Muriel Francis born in 1931.

I have no connection to either of these families. It is from the August 15, 1882 Rockland (Maine) Gazette:

"At Harrington, Alonzo Nash is building a barkentine of 550 tons, to be commanded by Capt. Otis Cole. Mr. Nash is also building one of same size, to be partly owned out of the state. Both vessels will be off next fall. A sch. of 200 tons is also building at Harrington."

I have no connection to these famililes. When I come across these "tidbits" in the old newspapers I'm working on, I like to post them. I think it helps us to "humanize" our ancestors. We don't always like the stuff they did necessarily, but . . . we can't pick our family - lol.

This is from the Rockland (Maine) Gazette of June 28, 1872:

"LAUNCHED from the yard of Snow Farwell & Co., evening of June 20th, schooner Belle Brown, of 147.93 tons, owned as follows: Snow, Farwell & Co., 45:64, Horace S. Perry, C.R. Mallard, Geo. F. Kaler, Oscar A. Crockett, Geo. A. Brown, Benj. F. Haskell, and M.A. Davis, each 2:64, David H. Smith, 3:64, and J.C. Libby & Sons 1:64. This schooner is built in the most complete manner, and furnished with everything desirable in the way of sails, rigging and tackle. She will be commanded by Capt. Ezekiel R. Nash. She was launched as stated above, evening of the 20th, and sailed next morning for Vinalhaven to load. Free Press"

Is there anyone on this message board who would like to discuss the possibility that Noah's first wife died and that he married Elizabeth Johnson the widow of Dabney Johnson around 1837 in Jackson County, Missouri. Daughter Nancy would be the result of his first marriage and the other children would be children of this second Elizabeth. I think I can help you with your photograph of John Frederick aged 3 from Nottingham. He was the son of Winifred Maud Nash the sister of several Nashes including Mabel (who married Heaton johnson), Ernest Hunt Nash, Charles Horton Nash & Charles Ramsay Nash. Winifred married John Henry Lambert from Nottingham. John Frederick b.1908 was their eldest son. I would appreciate a copy of the photo and any other Nash relatives you may have. I am descended from the Hunt side of the family. Frances Jane Hunt, who was the grandmother of the Nashes mentioned above, was the sister of my great, great grandfather.

I don't have any connection to this family but found this while doing other research. I am posting hundreds of these “blurbs” because I believe it helps to see our ancestors as people rather than just names and dates and, in some cases, it helps to place where our ancestors were during a certain period of time.

This entry is from the Rockland, Maine Courier-Gazette of August 14, 1894 in the "History of Aurora Lodge" story:

"Henderson E. Nash, born in Nobleboro, Apl. 10, 1846; locomotive engineer on Maine Central, with home in Rockland; admitted May 7, 1884; demitted April 1, 1885."

Agusta Nash married Warren Yeatman. Agusta is the daughter of Curtis M. Nash (1835-1911) and Susan Ann Bowen. Yes, Richmond County, Va. Hope this helps.

Reginald, Connie and Betty Nash; looking for relatives

I'm looking for relatives for Reg, Connie and Betty Nash who were brother and sisters, all now deceased (i'm the daughter of Betty). I know my grandmothers maiden name was Leaver and think my grandparents were called William and Ann who died in the early 1960s.

I know Reg had a daughter Ann and Connie had a son John but don't know any other details.

I am doing research on Robert Burgess Nash born about 1925. I believe he might have been born in Virginia. I know that his mother was Ethel. I know that Ethel remarried and her last name was Wilson (Ethel Wilson). I don't know was Robert's father's name was. Does this sound like anybody that you might have come across in your research?
