Surnames: Nieto, Nieto de Nieto
I am reading a notarized, hand written, baptism record taken from an archived record book, recorded in Parroquia de Armadillo. In 1914, Oct 3, parents Alberto Nieto and Augustina Nieto de Nieto, presented a 10 day old infant for baptism. The Godparents were listed as Antonino Nieto and Fabiana Nieto.
Then I found his honorable discharge from the Army. At time of discharge, they gave him citizenship and a new name. He became Leo Albert Nieto on 7 December 1943. He had been inducted into the Army Feb 1943, Fresno CA. He contracted TB and was released from duty in Kearne Utah. He was paid in full $48.13 cash.
Although I cannot find his birth certificate, he always said his birthdate was 23 Sep 1914.
I am seeking any additional information about our Nieto family.
