Nunn questions.. Isaac and Martha (Cix) Nunn

Recently I found an obit for my greatgrandmother Ethel Blanche (NUNN) Tyler. And it states her parents are Isaac and Martha (Cix) Nunn. I have done several searches for them to no avail.

I do know that Ethel was born April 12 1884 in Tipton Co, Indiana. And that she passed away on May 11 1970. In 1904 she married a John Hunter and then in 1918 she married Charles Milton Tyler. She passed away in Kokomo , Howard , Indiana. And is buried at Crown Point Cemetery in Kokomo.

I am looking for further information on her parents. And have came up empty handed.

Any information would be appreciated. And also I would estimate their births and and around 1865 or so.

Thanks in advance...
John Nunn - Wythe Co., Virginia

Need information on John Nunn who married Deborah "Dabby" Cook (b.1808) or possibly Cock on Apr 26, 1824 in Wythe Co., VA. Debby was age 15 or 16 at marriage. On the 1830 Census this family was listed on page 346 Wythe Co. John died sometime in the 1830s and in 1840 Deborah Nunn is listed in Washington Co., VA pg 236.

I have nothing on her until 1880 when she was living with her grandchild in Marrowbone, Cumberland Co., KY. She is listed as age 72 born in VA, parents born VA and she was widowed; grandmother of W. P. Humphrey age 41 or possibly grandmother of his wife Alice age 22 (b.1858).

Was this John Nunn a son of Thomas Nunn and grandson of John and Ann Wharton Nunn? John could have been married prior to Debby. This could have been his second or even third marriage. There is undoubtedly some kind of connection to John and Ann.

John and Debby had a daughter Elmira Nunn born 1825/1826 Wythe Co., VA. Elmira married Anderson S. Burk Oct 21, 1841 Washington Co., VA. Anderson's first name and last name are often misspelled. Elmira and Anderson migrated to Breeding, Adair Co., KY. Also, I have been trying to locate Anderson and Elmira on the 1850 Census for the past 20 years or so. In that year they lived in VA or TN or eastern KY. Maybe they were living on the wrong side of the mountain and didn't get counted?

I would appreciate any information on these families. Frank Merriman

Samuel Nunn, London, born 1828

Hello!

Should anyone be tracing one of the Nunn families in London, here's some very interesting information which I stumbled across. It's a list of names, dob and deaths for what seems to be a mother and all her children. I would be really grateful if anyone with access to the 1841 and 1851 UK census could check out these details for me - I'm interested to see if it says where David Nunn was born (London or Suffolk). Also, if anyone knows anything about the girls in the census, I'd love to hear from you. The question marks are where the handwriting was impossible to read. It's as follows:

Elizabeth Nunn born Jan 1st 1801
died Oct 28th 184?
Sarah Nunn born Jan 25th 1819
Elizabeth Nunn born April 25th 1821
Thomas Nunn born July 31st 1824
died Sept 12th 1825
Charlotte Nunn born Aug 22nd 1826
Samuel Nunn born Sept 21st 1828
William Nunn born Aug 22nd 1830
died Nov 13th 1832
(May/Mary?) Ann Nunn born Oct 29th 1832
Harriet Nunn born July 5th 1834
(Alexandra/der?) born June 10th 1836
Lydia Nunn born Oct 8th 1841

Samuel was baptised in Jan or Feb 1829 at St Leonard's Church, Shoreditch. His parents names are given as David and Elizabeth Nunn.

Samuel Nunn married Eliza Harris (born 1842) on 20th August 1863. His father's name is given as David Nunn, tallow chandler. Eliza's father is given as Daniel Harris, grocer, and her mother's maiden name was Jones. Eliza died on 8th Aug 1913, and Samuel was still alive.

Samuel had three children, John Henry (born 1863, died 1936), Elizabeth, and James A. (possibly 'Albert', born 1874, died aged 12 from meningitis). Elizabeth married Albert Gerrard, who died in 1935. Should anyone know any more about Elizabeth, I'd love to know as I haven't been able to find her on the 1901 or 1881 census! She 'should' appear on the 1891 census with her parents and John Henry.

Thanks!

Lee Nunn was born about 1864 in Missouri. His brother, Joseph Nunn was born about 1866 in Missouri. I believe they were both sons of Elbert H. Nunn born about 1829 in Henry County, Virginia. The brothers were living in Cheyenne County, Nebraska in 1900 and in Morrill County by 1910. I believe Lee married Rose Hughes and Joseph married Grace Dugger. I would love further information if any one is familiar with this family. Thanks!

I am researching a Nunn family listed in the 1880 Grayson County Census. The head of the family was "Seba" (possibly Seaborn) Nun with wife Mary and the following children: William(13), James (14), Florence (11), Dena (7), Nellie (1). Seba & Mary were born in Georgia and most of the children were born in Alabama. I'm wondering if this family migrated to the Smith county area, but since the next census is 20 years later, I'm having trouble. If anyone has information on this family, please contact me. Thank you.
