J. R. Owen, an old resident of this county, expired
suddenly at the dinner table. His son, Chesley Owen,
had been arrested a short time before for violation
of the prohibition law, and he had been out trying to
make bond for him. Owen formerly farmed in Dent
township, but had been a resident of Shawnee for a
number of years. The funeral will be held at the
residence at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning.
