Connecting Phillips Families in Baltimore prior to 1840's

Surnames: Phillips, Philips, Myers
Does anyone know of any resources in identifying the members of the various Myers and Phillips families in Baltimore, Maryland, from the mid 1700's through the early 1800's? I have hit a roadblock at this point:
Husband: Charles W. Myers, b. 1839 Baltimore
Wife: Sarah Jane Phillips, b. 1848 Baltimore
I know from later census records that their parents were also born in Baltimore, and there are a tantilizing number of earlier Myers and Phillips to be found in earlier records from Baltimore. However, I have not yet been able to connect my GGGrandparents to their families. Can anyone provide any information?
