Carol, Union County, NC was formed in 1842. I am not sure where Black Rock is but if it is in present Union County (formerly Anson County) I am interested in finding out if your Peter Phillips is related to my Joshua Phillips and Jacob Phillips, both of Anson County which is now in the northern portion of present Union County, near Olive Branch. One of my deeds was on Richardson Creek.
