I'm looking for the death date and burial place of Richard Huston Phoenix who was born April 13, 1886 in Kansas but was living in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the 1920 and 1930 census. He was in Chicago, IL in his 1942 WWII Draft Registration but his wife Lena was still in Tulsa. Thank you for any help.

Tullylish area Phoenix

Looking for more information on Phoenix from Tullylish, Co. Down, Ireland.

My family tree says Boyd Bullock married Peggy (Margaret) Phoenix born possibly 1790ish. She had siblings "one of whom was a school teacher in Clare and the other a lawyer in Dublin". I don't know about the Dublin part, but there are indications there was a family member in Clare. Boyd is a common name in the Bullock family. One of the Bullocks was a lawyer and perhaps employed a Phoenix relative.

Boyd and Margaret's children were Mary Ann (our line), Isaac, Ezekiel, Thomas, Margaret, and ELizabeth. I have no information on the other children.

Also looking for information on Jane Phoenix, daughter of John, farmer in "Drumnaveille, Tullylish." She was probably born about 1820-1830 and married a Magowan.

Kim,

Thank you for responding. I have recently found my great grandfather who was Edward Phoenix, and Great grandmother Mary C/E both listed as being born in VA. This has been a great experience for myself and all of my PHAMILY. I hope that we can keep in touch as our ancestry is revealed. Who knows, we may connect in time. Much Love,

Kevin M. Phoenix, Sr.

My name is Kim Phoenix. My father is Otis Phoenix, my grandfather is Robert Phoenix, however, he was adopted. I do not know my greatgrandparents or his real surname. No one in our family knows his real surname. My uncles are Mike Phoenix (Illinois) and James Phoenix (texas), I do not have aunts, but they say males are easier to track down.

She married Ralph lee Gill and they had three girls, Juanita[Mary], Joann, and Jacqulin. Juanita is my mother, she is the oldest.Juanita and Joann have passed, leaving Aunt Jackie as the oldest of the family, my brother Ralfh are next in line. you can see we dont have a lot of family left from the older generations. i really dont know any other Phoenixs, i dont believe i have ever meet any of them except my Great Grandparents, just my GreatGramma, GreatGranpa passed before i was born.

My 2greats grandfather, Jason Phoenix was born approximately 1867-1868. He married Emma Tinney and they had 8 children, one of whom was my great grandmother, Bertha Bell Phoenix (Smith). Jason and Emma lived in the Schenectady NY area from at least the 1900’s and on. If anyone has any information they are willing to share that would be great! I also do have more information on their children if anyone is interested. Thanks so much!
From the "History of Walworth Co, WI - 1882", there is a biographic sketch under 'Town of Delavan' for Franklin K. Phoenix, proprietor of Phoenix Nursery, of Delavan, WI, is the son of Samuel F. and Sarah A. Phoenix; was born in Perry, Genesee Co, now Wyoming Co, NY, March 3, 1825. In July 1837, he came to Walworth Co, Wis, with his parents, and located on Sec. 15, town of Delavan, in September of that year. He returned East in the spring of 1841, and attended school in his native town one year; returned to Delavan in 1842 and established a nursery, which he carried on until June, 1854, when he moved to Bloomington, Ill., where he engaged in the same business on an extensive scale, having at one time 600 acres under stock, making one of the largest nurseries in the country, if not in the world; annual sale amounted to $200,000. Owing to a succession of unfavorable seasons, he became embarrassed, and was obliged to close out the business in 1877. He remained at Bloomington one year later, then went to the State of New York, where he remained until August, 1879, and then returned to Delavan, there he has since resided. On his return to Delavan, he re-established a nursery. He was married, at Darien, Walworth Co, Wis, Dec 2, 1850, to Mary E. Topping, daughter of Thomas Topping. Mrs. Phoenix was born in Montgomery Co, NY. They had seven children -- five sons and two daughters -- Samuel T., A. Melville (died at 18 years of age), Fred S., F. May, Frank, John J., Carrie.

Got the copy of Fred's DC, while searching, also found one for a Zada (Hallar) Phoenix, 19 years old, signed by Clyde Phoenix. Do you think this might have been a first wife of Clyde? He was the son of Fred and Mollie. Haven't done much on census, now that they were found in Missouri but will continue. Have you seen/checked out the death certificates available on the Missouri archives pages? I have written to the library in Kansas City, MO, to see if I can obtain obits for Fred and Zada, will let you know.
Thank you for his death date. Went to the Missouri site, and printed off a copy of his death certificate. Would never have looked for him there. Thank you, thank you.
On the Illinois marriage index, found this: Frederick Phoenix, married Laura Bumgardner 9/29/1879 Effingham, IL. and think they are the same. Also, `1800 census, there is a Fred Phoenix, age 30, married to a Laura, age 28, living next door to Janie Phoenis and son Thomas, in Whitehall, Green CO, IL. So think they are one and the same. In fact when he and Molly show up on the 1900 census, she is only 29 to his 49, and Charles son is 20, Lawrence is 14, Raymond is 13, boys all born in Illinois. Then Bessie, Clyde and Ward are born in Missouri. Have been unabele to find them in the 1910 or 1920 so far. Now Charles could not possibly be Mollies, but there would be a chance Lawrence and Raymond could be, but doubt it. However, it wasn't unusual for a woman to marry and bear a child at 15 back then.
Thanks again for the information. It did help a lot.
Oma

Oma,

I found a copy of Fred's Death Certificate. He died at ST. Mary's Hospital in Kansas City MO. Buried in Memorial Garden Cem. He died 12/23/1925. I hope this helps you. I did find out he was 21 years older then his wife Mollie. So it is possible he was married before. Let me know if this helps.

Michael

Unfortunately no... this is all I have on them. Don't know if Laura died, probably did, am guessing, and then found him with Molly in 1900 census in 1900 United States Federal Census > Kansas > Wyandotte > Shawnce > District 171 Page 2A June 2nd listed with children, Charles, Lawrence, Raymond, Bessie, Clyde and Ward, but have found absolutely nothing since. Molly is listed as having only three children, so probably the first ones were Laura's? Do you have more info on them than that, especially the descendents? Do you know if Laura's parents were William and Martha? Sure would like to find more about this family.
Oma
