Can anyone help me?

I am a decendent of Rice Price (Wales).

My ancestry breaks down like this:

Rice Price (of Wales...to Virginia?)
Micajah Price (b. North Carolina, d. North Carolina
Campbell Price (1794 North Carolina-1844 Newton, Co. Missouri)
William C. Price (1821 Jackson, Tennessee-1898 Newton, Co. Missouri)
Luke Lyle Price (1859 Missouri-1938 Missouri)
Myrtle Iva Price Ball (1893-1983)

My question is this:
I believe I am related in some way to the Confederate General Sterling Price, who was also the Governor of Missouri. I know Sterling Price decended from John Price of Wales, and I am wondering if John Price, and my Rice Price were brothers?

And another question:
There was also a William C. Price from Southwestern Missouri who was Sec. of the Treasury under Buchanan and Lincoln and left the Cabinet in 1861 to fight in the Civil War alongside his cousin, Gen. Sterling Price.

My GGG grandfather William C. Price of McDonald Co. Missouri was a politician who enlisted in the Civil War in 1861 and fought battles at Newton, Armstrong Ford and Fort Gibson. And Gen. Sterling Price fought many battles in Neosho and all over SW Missouri and Northeastern OK.

But I am wondering if these two William C. Price are the same person. If they are not one and the same, I think they are at least cousins decended from Wales.

P.s. Also, my GGG grandfather William C. Price (politician, judge) named one of his other sons Sterling.

I am looking for Joseph J. (possibly Jonathan) Price. In the family he is also referred to as Joe. He was born in Jan 1879 (according to Census) to Thomas Rees Price and Annie Maria Richards. He possibly went to the University of Tennessee around 1897ish. His father owned the Knoxville Furniture Company and Joseph worked there as a bookkeeper, then in other capacities after the death of his father in 1906. Around 1913-1915 Joseph left Knoxville. I am not sure where he went or why, but I have heard that he only came back once. We have no idea where he went, but a family story my father told was he moved west. I have pictures of him on my family website.

Hello, I have the following information on a certain Ferrell/Price family in West Virginia. If anyone has any other information or photo's of this couple, I would love to hear from you. I would be glad to share what I have gathered so far. I am not researching the entire Ferrell or Price family, just this couple. My main focus is the Lemasters family that married into the Ferrell family:

James M or N Ferrell, b. 10 February 1857 in Tyler County, Virginia later to be West Virginia. Son of Benjamin Franklin Ferrell and Sarah Jane Pipes. James died 3 February 1937 in Calhoun County, West Virginia and is buried in the Liberty Hill Cemetery in Calhoun County, West Virginia

Married Mary Jane Lemasters on 21 March 1880 in Tyler County, West Virginia.

Mary was born abt. 1856 in Tyler County, Virginia and died 24 June 24, 1922 in Calhoun County, West Virginia and is buried in the Liberty Hill Cemetery in Calhoun County, West Virginia

James and Mary Ferrell only had 1 child that I can find, Susie Ferrell born about 1883. Susie married Bernard H. Price.

Looking for others searching this family. His son James moved to Thibodaux, Lafourche Parish, Louisiana while one son, Thomas remained in SC. He also has two daughters, Mary who may never have married and Bethia Price who married William Skirving. Both daughters remained in SC.

Bethia's will mentions a plantation on Combahee called Llandovery. Anyone having information on this plantation, history, etc would be very much appreciated.

My g-g-grandmother Catherine Price, born around 1811, was the daughter of Christian Price, born around 1764-1832 and one of possibly 3 women. Christian married a Maria Touschek,(unknown-aft 1796) and a Barbara Overholt, (ab't. 1782-1822) or an Anna "Nancy", last name unkown (1777-1867). Does anyone have a Christian Price in their family who married one of these women and would know which one was Catherine's mother? Catherine married Jacob Shelly.

Benjamin and both children walked The Trail of Tears and settled in Evansville, Washington, Arkansas. So the story goes. William G. and his family came into the Science Hill area of Henderson County before 1860 from Lauderdale County, Mississippi. William G. is listed on the 1860 Henderson County Census along with 7 children: Susan E., Thomas B., William B., Mary C., Martha J., Rebecca T., and Parilee C.

At least three of the girls married in Henderson County:
- Martha J. married Samuel H. MARTIN - 11/1876.
- Rebecca married Ransom H. BELL - 6/1879.
- Parilee married Daniel Andrew COLEMAN - 5/1870.

William G., Rebecca, and Parilee died in Henderson County and are buried in Willow Springs Cemetery.

If anyone can help with this family, I would appreciate hearing from you. William G. was present in 1842 in Lauderdale County, Mississippi at marriage of my GGrandfather. AN EYE-WITNESS STORY OF ACCIDENT WHEREIN GEORGE L. PRICE DIED IN COSTA RICA

Well Known Local Photographer, Was Accompanied On Death Car, By Star and Herald's Correspondent at San Jose -- Track Motor Was Traveling At About 25 Miles An Hour When It Crashed Against Train Moving At Approximately 15 Miles Hourly (Haskins News Service) by O.R. Bruce

SAN JOSE, Sept. 28. --- Geo. L. Price, who came to this country but a few days ago, recommended to the correspondent by W.C. Haskins, with a view of taking pictures of the Pacific side of Costa Rica from the railroad line, solicited the use of an open trolley from the management of the Pacific Government Railroad which was courteously placed at his orders. As he desired to make a description of this trip for the newspapers he asked the correspondent of the Star and Herald to accompany him on the trip.

Mr. Price took but few pictures of the road itself and in general the trolley was traveling at good speed towards the Pacific port of Puntarenas. The conductor of the trolley, which by the way was split-new and had made its first trip the day previous to the disaster, was not really a conductor, but the motorman knew his job and drove carefully and with foresight. The conductor was so green that he did not carry a watch to check up on his time, an important fact when the rest of the story is told.

We left San Jose at 6:10 a.m. and after traveling the first half of the distance of 111 kilometers [approximately 69 miles-km] with frequent breaks and stops on account of labor gangs, local trains, etc., the conductor got the clearance to the station of Caldera but in a few kilometers from Puntarenas. Of course, somewhere on the line to this last mentioned station he would have to meet the ordinary passenger train going to San Jose. All went well until we got onto the long slightly inclined stretch between stations of Salinas and Mata Limon. The trolley had travelled more than three-quarters of the straight when the conductor asked the motorman for the time while he was studying the time-table of the road in expectation to meet the passenger train thereabouts. The writer was keeping an eye on the road at all times since the trolley was new and liable to jump the rails at any time. When he saw the engine of the passenger train nosing around the sharp the distance was about 100 meters [approximately 328 feet/109 yards-km]. He shouted to both motorist and conductor in Spanish and English, this latter principally for Mr. Price, whom he had to the left in front. Things happened with terrible suddenness then, since the trolley was travelling at about 25 miles per hour and the train came ahead at about 15 more or less. The writer kicked an attachee case and some bags of Mr. Price's off the car and jumped, both the motorist and conductor following suit immediately. They had not seen the coming of the train at all, since one was looking at his watch and the other studying the time-table at the moment. Ready to leave the trolley, the writer could see Mr. Price getting up to a standing posture, but for some reason or other he did not jump. The train smashed into the trolley the front steel board of the engine breaking the victim's legs and doubling him forward until his head smashed against the engine. His death must have been instantaneous. The writer got away with a badly bruised arm, a sore left side, and a tremendous nerve shock, but otherwise without damage. The two railroad employees were equally lucky.

The management of the railroad was immediately advised of the disaster by emergency telephone and immediately sent an engine with a caboose to carry the body of Mr. Price to San Jose together with the conductor and the correspondent. In the meantime, the American Consulate was advised of the accident and also J.W. Horton, who had accompanied the deceased to Costa Rica as his assistant. The effects of Mr. Price are being kept at the Consulate, but one of the valuable cameras as well as some of his other photographic stuff was smashed beyond redemption.

The funeral took place at San Jose at about 9 o'clock this morning and Consular officers, Mr. Horton, and Messrs. de Castro accompanied the body to its last resting place. The newspapers have given the dreadful accident great publicity and sincerely regret the tragedy.

Mr. Price has made quite a few friends since coming to this country and his tragic end is keenly regretted.

I descend from a Daniel Price born about 1804(according to census's) in Baltimore county, Maryland. He married Ann Woodward, January 12, 1826 in Baltimore county, Maryland, then they migrated to Muskingum county, Ohio between 1830 and 1840. I hope someone can help in finding his parents.....a possible parentage for him is Daniel Price and Elizabeth Hussey, they had a son born about 1796 named Daniel, with no issue after that.

I've just found the will of Samuel Still Sr. of Barnwell District, SC, dated 1830, on the SCDAH online records index. The will shows Samuel left his plantation to his daughter Frances and her husband Charles Price. I'm trying to link this Frances and Charles with my ancestor Levi Price. If I knew the names of any of Frances and Charles's children, I would know if there is a connection. Would like to hear from anyone who has this information.

Her death record lists father as DAN PRICE, the informant was one of her daughters. A descendant submitted, on the LDS IGI, the father as ROSS PRICE. The only PRICE family in Hardin Co., OH, 1870 Census, with a daughter named Mary or Caroline is: David P. & Mary E.(middle initial on 1880 census and tombstone says L.) PRICE of Jackson Township, daughter Caroline age 19 (poss. too old by 4 years), & in 1880 the family is still there and no Caroline. David & Mary PRICE are buried in the PRICE Cemetery, Jackson Township, Hardin County, Ohio.

William Botts Price was my great-grandfather on my father's side of the family. William Botts Price was the son of Francis Marion Price and Josephine Dewitt of Jackson Co. TN. William Botts married Viteria Dixon daughter of a Betsy and ? Dixon, had siblings Tommy, Charles, Rastus and sister Em. Em married a Hunter Wheeler. My grandmother was Mollie Emaline Price, William Botts 's daughter, she married a Pleas Henry Scott, son of Pleasant Henderson Scott and Alcy Foust Frederick from Grundy Co. TN. William Botts Price had a brother named Andrew Jackson, married several times, known wives, Matt Witcher, Nancey Jane Lundy, both from TN, Sarah(Sally)Light from Ky. and a couple more with Sarah Light being his final wife.
