If you are researching Purdys who may have been in northeast Pa. I have information that I am willing to share regarding the village of Purdyville by the Wallenpaupack River in Wayne County, PA. The town was flooded by the creation of Lake Wallenpaupack. I have names of persons removed from the family cemetery-Abbot, Samuel C.,Peter, Elder Wm. Purdy, etc.

I am very interested on any information you may have on the above subject (names, dates, village locations, etc...).
Some of my ancestors moved west from Purdyville and settled in Holmes County, Ohio around 1850. I still reside here but I am trying to find any history on the family that I possibly can.
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. I am descended from the same Purdys. Specifically, from William Purdy, who moved from Wayne County to Holmes County. I have some info on the family but would like to learn more, especially about William's children and where they all ended up. His daughter Roxina was my gggg grandmother, but I have not been able to find out when or where she died.

William Purdy was the son of William and Rachel Purdy. He was born in Dutchess Co., New York in 1774. He moved to Holmes Co., Ohio around 1825.
Their daughter Roxina was born in the early 1800's. She married Henry E. Day. I think she is buried in Killbuck, Ohio in the Oakhill Cemetery.

Roxina was married to Benjamin B. Day, not Henry E. Day. Henry was their son and was married to Huldah Husted. I believe this idea came from Roxina and Henry having property together in Coshocton County, after her husband died.
