Morgan Babcock born around 1806 and Maria Purdy around 1807 married. They were found in Dupage County, Illinois around 1830 - 1850. Morgan's son Isaac Newton Babcock was born in 1837 in Illinois. Stories handed down by the family was Isaac was sickly and was farmed out to the Indians at the headwaters of the Missouri/Mississippi Rivers. Isaac's son Archie Benaiah Babcock was born in Bedford, Missouri. Have been trying to find information on Morgan Babcock and Maria Purdy. I know there is a Finley Babcock whose parents are Morgan and Maria. I don't know if Isaac was aware of the relationship. None of his family knew anything about Finley but always thought there was a brother called Charley

I know Maria Purdy was born in Scott, Cortland, New York around 1806. I know Maria and Morgan Babcock are in DuPage County, Illinois in 1830 and 1840. I know my gf Isaac Newton Babcock was born in 1837 in Illinois. Stories my gm related Isaac was farmed out to the Indians. I am not sure what she meant by the statement- was he sick or what? Nothing is mentioned of Finley but was older. I cannot find any other information on Morgan or Maria Purdy

Found a 2001 listing on the Internet from a "Cathi" writing of her Grandfather's "hand written" note in regards to the children of Ebenezer Pardee & Thankful Johnson.

I believe that Maria is the wife of my Morgan Babcock. They have 2 daughters named Mary Maria and Olivia. My opinion is going against the info I am finding on the internet that everyine has copied...This makes so much more sense....

Our Maria died in 1848, and her son Isaac Newton is found in the 1850c, Whitewater, Walworth Co, Wisconsin, living with Jason and Eliza A Beach...Ebenezer & Thankful Pardee are living in the next HH....

1830c...My Morgan Babcock and Maria Pardee were living in the same Scott Twp, Cortland Co New York at the same time.

1840c...Ebenezer Pardee is living in Scott Twp, Cortland Co New York, just a few lines above Luke Babcock, brother to my Morgan....

Why else would the son of Morgan and Maria be living with this family in the 1850 census??? HELP!!!
