Rose,
Was your dad a Purdy? I am looking for some information about Gabriel Knight Purdy who married Jane or Jennie Giles.
I need to know about their parents and their children

Thanks

Hello,
I am a decendant of Gilbert Purdy who came to Malagash, NS in 1783. I am the last of my branch to cary the Purdy name and as I had three daughters it ends with me.
Gilbert was one of I believe five brothers that came to Fort Lawrence, New Brunswick in 1780. One child was born at that location. Seems they had a very hard time at that location and the grant in Malagash was little better although three years ago a very small portion of the grant sold for 3.5 million or so I have been told.
Rgards,
Charles....

Marilyn,
Gilbert (1763-1851) who married Ann Elizabeth Jennings was in Frontenac County, Ontario. He was son of Gilbert 4 (David 3, Joseph2).
The Gilbert in Nova Scotia was son of Samuel 4, Samuel 3, Joseph 2. He had two loyalist brothers Henry 5 and Gabriel 5. Henry 5 was the one who was at Fort Lawrence (he's my ancestor).
Alec

Thanks for the info... I have some of that info already but it's nice to confirm with other sources.

Cheers,
Marilyn
