Hello "K. Bailey":
I am also a michigan Purtell researcher. I have also trying to track your Ann Arbor Purtells. My John Purtell was born about 1816 in Co Limerick near Shanagolden. He immigrated to Binghamtonm, NY abt 1850. He finally settled in Emmett, St. Clair County, MI abt 1855. He moved to Bay City, Mi abt 1870. My family owned the Purtell Dairy Bar in Pinconning and I do know that we are related to the Lansing, Midland , and Shepherd, MI Purtells. I was told that the Lansing Purtells came to Pinconning once a year to "visit relatives". They do not know how we are related. Their line descends from Robert Purtell who emigrated to LaSalette, Ontario abt 1840 from Co Limerick, Ireland. I believe he was born abt 1808. I have lots of Purtell records from Kilcolman parish in Co Limerick. Would very much like to hear from you.
