UPDATE: Some new information from living relatives who remember Ellen and Edmund:
Ellen Purtell was born in Cahir, co. Tipperary.
She was younger than her husband, who was born in 1860.
She first met Edmund Browne in/around Cahir.
She married Edmund Browne at St. Marys Church in Cahir, probably towards the end of the 1800s.
After they married they lived in Cashel, co. Tipperary for some time.
They later moved to Mallow.
At some time the couple took on the running of the Mallow Club, a gentlemen and officers club in Mallow.
