I am looking for information beginning with my ggrandfather. I believe his name was Robert Purtill and he emigrated to LaSalette, Ontario abt 1840 from Co Limerick, Ireland. I believe he was born abt 1808. I have a picture of the entire family taken around 1900.
My father was born a Purtill. However, in the days when records were hand written the 'i' looked like an 'e', so we became Purtell
