Re your message 2 July 2000, I doubt that I can be of any help to you. The only Quin to start our branch of the Quin Family in Australia (Melbourne) was my grandfather Charles Hazleden Quin who came from London to Melbourne c1890 - later followed by his wife-to-be Annie Tijou - also from London. He apparently came from the London head office of John Sanderson Shipping to the Melbourne office. As far as we know his forebears were all London and there was English, French and Irish in his bloodline.
We are not aware of any connections with the North of England nor have I heard of Patrick or Stephen but we have not had any real opportunity to research his background thus far. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
