My grandfather Joseph Quin migrated to Canada (Montreal) from Glasgow in the early 1920s. His parents were Patrick Quinn and Elizabeth Fisher. Patrick's parents were Bernard Quinn and Ann Irvine.
It seems the family name was Quin when in Scotland. When the family came to Canada an extra N seems to have appeared.
