Hello,My name is Reda Alexander. Eliza frances Roberts Register was my grandfather's mother. I would be delighted to hear more from you. I am trying to sort out all of the Registers as I have went to the gravesights and have talked to other relatives online from the Bostwick Fla area. (Wiliams/Registers) I have a question and maybe you can help me. When i am doing a tree, how do I input things such as: My mother was married to a Fullmore and I was raised a Fullmore but by birth I am a DeLoach and I want to put my father's family in the tree as well?

To scott8481

** You asked about Sarah Ann REGISTER Beck. She was the sister of my gr-grandfather (John William Register) and the daughter of Aaron Register and Martha Cordill. Here is an excerpt from an 1892 Goodspeed biography of JW Register, which mentions Sarah ("Biographical and Historical Memoirs of Louisiana," 'John W. Register.' Goodspeed Publishing Company, 1892, Chicago, Ill.):

** "In enumerating the enterprising and progressive planters of Tensas Parish, La., John W. Register, Loamland Plantation, Waterproof, Louisiana must not be overlooked, for he is classed among the foremost men of the community. He first opened his eyes to the scenes of this world in Arkansas in 1842 [Oct. 23rd]. He was the second of three children born to Aaron and Martha Cordill Register, the father a native of Samson [Sampson] County, North Carolina, born in 1800. The other children are: Sarah Ann (wife of Richard Beck of Texas) and Margaret Jane (widow of Dr. John Wesley Baker of Franklin Parish, Louisiana). The father was a farmer by occupation and followed that calling in his native county until 1836, when he moved to Natchez, Mississippi. From there he moved to Arkansas [Chicot County] but in 1850 he came to Tensas Parish, Louisiana, where he made his home until January 1875 and died in Bastrop, Louisiana in March 1875. Our subject’s maternal grandfather, John Cordill, was a native of Adams County, Mississippi. ..."

** Richard & Sarah Beck are listed in the 1860 & 1870 Tensas Parish, LA, censuses and in the 1880 Franklin Parish, LA, census. After that, they seem to have "gone to Texas" and a relative says it was to Cuero. I thought I had evidence they were in or around Bastrop, Morehouse Parish, LA, around 1875, when Sarah's father Aaron died there, but I cannot put my hands on it. Do you have any information that Richard & Sarah lived in/near Bastrop, LA, in the 1870s? Do you know anything about Sarah's father, Aaron? Incidentally, Aaron Register (and Sarah) are listed in the 1840 & 1850 Chicot County, AR, censuses.

** --June

I will have to check with one of my cousins because the "missing child" theory is his.

It might be possible that Elijah is the missing child, but doubtful because we don't have any evidence that this family spent any time in Georgia. Also, based on our best guesses about Mary Porter, she would be 13 or 14 in 1834.

So, while it doesn't rule out Mary being Elijah's mother, I think it is unlikely.

Do you have the dates this child might have been born in?

I am also looking for parents for a Register. I have been able to trace my family back to Elijah F.
Wesley Taft Register and Audrey Aline Stafford were my paternal grandparents. Their son Jimmie Lee is my father, I am Sharon. I've only been researching my geneology for a month or so, but have had trouble going any further back that John and Mary. I was told by my father that John Thomas' father was John S. Register born 1843. I've found a John Register (8) born approximately 1842 in the 1850 Laurens County census, mother Martha, no father listed, siblings James (10), Alfred (6) and Thomas (2). They were living next to a David Register family. Does anyone have any info going back further than John and Mary or on Martha Register?

Grace Elizabeth Rigester (misspelling or different spelling of Register, she is on here as both) is on a Texas birth register as giving birth to my grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Wright (father is Walter Worth Wright).

None of our family ever knew this, or that my grandmother was born in Texas and not North Carolina. Walter Worth Wright married Sarah Ann Brown and my family knew only her as the mother to my grandmother.

Grace Elizabeth's parents were Howard and Marry Ann Register. She has 6 older siblings when she was 7 in the 1920 census and 3 younger siblings. She gave birth to my grandmother at about 21 years old, Walter Worth Wright was 13 years older than her.

The childrens names are: Sybil, John H, Marry Joe, Willie Dorris, Bonner C, Joseph T, Blanche, Floriene, Emly (Emily?) E Register.

I am hoping to find someone who knew her growing up or who has some relatives in their tree. I'm hoping someone knows the story of why Grace Elizabeth was not in my grandmother's life or ever mentioned to anyone.

I am searching for my Great Grandmother and her family. She was born in Laurens County Georgia. I am not sure of the year. Her death certificate says she was 80 years and 29 days when she died. That makes her 20 years older than her husband. According to the 1930 census, she was 10 years younger than him. Any one with any informtion on Louisa or Lou Register who married Elijah Mires Floyd out there somewhere.
Is there still a Register reunion in Georgia?
mary frank wills
maryfrank15@windstream.net

There are also Regesters/Registers in QA & Kent MD, but I haven't seen Sarah Ann. 'Colonial Families of the Eastern Shore', Volumes 3 & 4 highlight some of this family in the 1700's. Queen Anne's Marriage Records note a John Farland/McFarland's marriage to a Mary Sparks 1840. Best of luck.

I sent the following to your e-mail link and it bounced back to me.
"I am sorry I didn't get to meet you. It sure was a good ceremony. It really made me feel good that he was finally acknowledged for his bravery and loyalty.

Here is the link to my son's site with the pictures on it.
http://picasaweb.google.com/technick/ElijahRegisterSonsOfCiv...

Picasa Web Albums - technick - Elijah Regist...

It was a wonderful turnout and a lot of the family was there. Of course, I only knew about 4 of them. Was sure nice to meet all those relatives. I am hoping there will be a family reunion sometime this year. I keep talking it up. Hope someone will help me with it because I feel like it should be held there. I have been to a couple of the Samuel Register reunions but they don't seem to want to acknowledge my line because I don't know who Elijah's father was. Doubt I will go back to any of those until I do.

Hope your ankle is better, and hope you had a wonderful Christmas.

Linda
"Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens." - John Homer Miller.
Linda
