Seeking information on Jacob RIGDON shown on the 1850 Mobile Co AL census. He married Mary ALEXANDER, daughter of Obediah ALEXANDER and Rachel MORGAN. How is Jacob related to Enoch RIGDON enumerated in the 1830 census for Monroe Co AL? Father? Uncle? That Enoch was the son of Enoch RIGDON who married Sophia SHIDDLE of Lincoln Co NC. Sophia had a sister, Christiana, and the name was apparently passed down through the RIGDON line. Jacob and Mary RIGDON may have lived in the Shreveport LA area in the late 1800s. Any info on this RIGDON line would be appreciated. Thanks.

Monk - Rigdon in Southeast Alabama

Sarah Ann Rigdon, daughter of William G. Rigdon and granddaughter of Ephraim Rigdon, married Uriah Monk January 6, 1860. Uriah was the son of Joshua Monk and Lydia Kirkland.
Another of Joshua's sons, Josiah, married Catherine "Regden" in Henry County, Alabama, March 21, 1832, per Henry County marriage records. I believe this is most likely misspelled and should be Rigdon.

I know Catherine is not the daughter of William G., but I feel like there must be a connection here. In my research, it appears Ephraim had at least three daughters, but the names are not listed. This Catherine was born about 1815 in South Carolina per Henry County Census records, making her exactly the right age to be one of Ephraim's unnamed daughters and a brother to William G. How did William G. Rigdon get to Southeast Alabama? Was it Ephraim who relocated the family from SC to Southeast Alabama?

Thanks for any insight!
Debbie

My wife's great grandfather...from Kentucky...
was living in Minnesota around the time of the
Civil War. I have noticed that most of the
Rigdons lived in Winona and Olmstead counties
of the southeast portion of the state.

Does anybody have any ties to the Rigdons of
these two counties. They lived so close together
that it's more than an assumption that they were
related.

If I can ask for a miracle...if you do have a tie
to these families...do you have a tie to
Fleming...Mason or Lewis Counties of northeast
Kentucky?

Hey, I'm not asking for a miracle. Somebody
must be related...there were between 10-15
Rigdons in the census from these 2 counties.

Please HELP! If you know anything...send what you know.

I will take all forms of information.

I have found the above, I believe, J G was baptized at the Pine Grove Baptist Church, just out side of Alma Georgia
in 1881, Mary Etta joined the church in 1883. J G would have been coming up on 70, maybe the reason for joining the church then. I find no listing for the church. The name was probably changed. If there is anyone in that area who can tell me info for the present name and any info on the cemetery?
Both may be buried there. therigdons@hotmail.com

Hi everyone. Is there anyone out there who has any info on Jesse White Rigdon's parents, grandparents etc? I have seen some posts on his father as being Wm married to a Rebecca, but so far have found nothing to prove this. There was a James who was married to a Rebecca, and they had a child name Wm. Would sure appreciate some help on this. I am descended from Nannie B Rigdon (Short). Her father was Wm "Billy Red" Rigdon - son of Jesse White Rigdon. Thanks in advance.

Linda T

Looking for info on Emma Rigdon Mann

Baker County FL records indicate that my great-great grandmother Mary Jane Rigdon Mann was the second wife of John Wesley Mann. There is also an Emma Rigdon Mann listed. I'm trying to determine if both ladies were sisters.
