Seek proof of family legend. John, b. ca. 1842, England?, mar. Unknown, d. 17 Jun 1775. He encountered a young boy with a musket, crying, took the musket, gave him the drum & John was soon shot & died on the field.
Children: John, Jr.; Seth; Capt. James. John, Jr. b. 22 Nov 1771, Middletown, Middlesex, CT; mar. Jane Bell.
