I am looking for a Vern Risher. I have a photo of him and on the back it says "Vern Risher my father". Date on back of picture is 1956. The picture looks just like my husband's father only he's too old to be. So I believe it's my husband's grandfather. My husband and his father passed away in 2002. Any info would be appreciated. If you like you can email me directly at glo4sythe@yahoo.com
Thanks

I'm trying to find the parents of my grandmother, Sadie Risher or Rischer. Not sure of the spelling. Sadie may have been born in Christian Springs, MS and died in Jackson, Hinds County, MS about 1968. She married Jim (James Lafayette) Grisham - date unknown. They had one child, also named James. Would appreciate any info as I am really at a dead end.

Who was Lydia?

Nancy Lanning, born 1787, married Benjamin Servison. She died in 1840 in Tuscarawas Co., Ohio and Benjamin remarried to Lydia Keisher in 1841, who was born there in 1810. Benjamin and Lydia moved to Linn Co., Iowa in 1847 and so did the family of Nancy Lanning's brother, Richard Samuel Lanning.

Samantha, daughter of Benjamin and Lydia, married Willliam Hickman in Iowa. Over the years, Benjamin, Lydia and William died, leaving Samantha a widow with 6 children. Samantha and children moved in with Richard and wife Justine Risher. Was this just charity or was their a family connection? Richard could be loosely called a step-uncle of Samantha's, since her father first married his sister. Or, was Samantha's mother Lydia Keisher related to Richard's wife Justine Risher? The names Risher and Keisher are curiously similar. I have never been able to connect Lydia with the Rishers in Ohio, let alone with anyone else.

Is there a researcher out there who would have even a tiny inkling as to who was Lydia Keisher? The marriage record corrupted Benjamin's name to Swerson, instead of Servison. Was Keisher a corruption of Risher? The name Keisher, exactly spelled that way, is very rare. An additional complication is that Lydia was 31 years old when she married Benjamin, so I don't know if that was her maiden or married name! There were several Keisers, a common name, in and around the area of their marriage in Tuscarawas, Ohio, but I've never been able to connect with any of those Keiser families. Will Lydia's parents be forever unknown?
Lew Risher

I'm new to this board. My Grandfathers name was Lew Risher and he was born in 1881 in Michigan, as far as I know. He had 2 brothers, Frank and Bill and 2 sisters, Mary and Ann. He came to Missouri when he was 16 years old, about 1897. His fathers name was Daniel and his mother was Sarah Gregison Risher. I would appreciate any info any one may have on this branch.

Rishers in La

I am looking for information on the La. Rishers. WW Risher, also known as Williamson and Walter, had 11 children. Some with Carloine Mahala Webb, and some with Jane P. Guice in the mid 1800's. Looking for any information on them. He was born in MO.

A little family info

Grandpa Jack was married to Mary Lotz-Risher.
They had five children-Marvin,Roy, Paul, Floyd, and Joyce.
Uncle Floyd's nickname was "Pud". Grandpa
has sister's in Annapolis and elsewhere. Mel,Almie and Hazel.
I believe this branch of Risher's came from
Germany, or so I have been told. I would also
like to learn about the Lotz family, of whom
I have never met. Grandma Mary died of TB
when my dad, Roy, was a child. She has a
brother named Burrel, also living in Annapolis, Mo.
