Peter Roberts b.1807

Hello,
I am endeavouring to trace Peter Roberts born approx 1805-1807. The 1841 Wales census states that Peter was born outside the county and ticked yes for born in Scotland Ireland or Foreign parts. Peter married Rachael Walters on 26 July 1829 in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales. They later moved to Aberdare, Wales. They had 10 children in all.
Peter and Rachel's eldest son David Roberts married Gwenllian "Winifred" Llewellyn on 12 Nov 1849 and migrated to Ballarat with son Samuel, then Bendigo, Australia around 1851. From that point the family line is well established. It's the sorting out of Peter that has me baffled. I would be so grateful for anyones assistance. Thank you.
Shannon
John Roberts "Wanted"
I have been in a tail spin the last 2 months or so in Research, I have traveled many miles with my fingers covering distances, searching for my elusive John Roberts. Whee. I have reached the point where I have them downpat in my mind, There are the Charlestonians (because they came into the country in Charleston SC.) Then the SC Roberts who came down from Va, to the Carolinas. Many of whom Migrated to Georgia, and they make up the Georgia Roberts. Now some of both the SC Roberts and the Charlestonians decided to really migrate, so they settled in the Mississippi Territory, some were living in area they made the state of Alabama, some in Mississippi. then headed to Louisiana and on to Texas. Now we have the group who left Va and headed to Tenn, and some of those split between Texas and Lousiana. Finally, we have a very tiny group who came down the river from Virginia to Mississippi Territory and part of that family ended up in Kentucky. Now, if your family of Roberts lives in Vernon Parish, then you are of one branch or the other. Either the SC who stopped in Alabama. Or, you are from the Charlestonians. In 1820 there are 20 odd John Roberts, who stretch from SC - Georgia - Alabama - Mississippi - Louisiana, the one from Tenn and his son are in Lousiana. That's George's Boy and Grandson.

And still another that I found yesterday in Texas.. John Isaac Roberts, son of Daniel Roberts, grandson of Cornelius, family originally out of Va.

You see, I have come to the conclusion that searching for John Roberts, will make you old before your time. Now, I have found a number of John Roberts that are too old, have too many kids in too short of time. 2 years.. thats all I'm missing.. just 2 years. Here in 1818 gone in 1820.. Where did he go????

As I was saying, and a number of John Roberts who are just too young. There is only one, born the same year or years, family from Culpeper Va, Catholic, both were in the war of 1812 very young age to do so.

But, and there are But's to this one. long story..

Anyone have an extra John Roberts, that was born in 1795 -1797, Father named John, Mother named Elizabeth, family originally from Culpeper, Va, and who fought in the war of 1812 and Catholic? Please send him over and release me from my misery..

I bought this photo, visiting card size, with another. It was taken in Alex. Ayton's Studio, Kennedy Place Londonderry 1874.
The Name on the back is Roberts. Initials are J W, I W, or maybe a fancy M.

The other photo is of Robert Denvir, taken in J Magill's Belfast, 1866.
Robert Denvir died April 1875, aged 100. He owned Denvir's Hotel in Downpatrick, County Down Northern Ireland.

I can't find any info on Mr Roberts. Maybe he came from elsewhere.

They are probably not connected, but I have included the two photos anyway.

The man standing is Mr Roberts.
I am descended from the Roberts family of Paulding County, Georgia. My Great Great Grandfather was Wesley Hogan Roberts who was born in South Carolina in 1823 and died in near Dallas, Georgia, in 1891. He was a school teacher and was murdered in a robery attempt. His wife was Elizabeth Sarah (maiden name not known), born in Georgia in 1839 and died in 1919. They are both burried in New Smyrna Church Cemetary near Dallas.

I am looking for South Carolina connections for W. H. who shows up on the 1850 census as Hogan Roberts. I also would like to find infromation about his wife who I'm told was a Cherokee Indian adopted by a family named Golden.

Thank You,

Randy Moore

I am looking for information on a tommie roberts b abt 1905 probably clay co, KY. His father was James Roberts b. abt 1885. His mother may have been Lizzie eversole b. 1889 to Zephaniah Eversole and Rhoda Couch. Lizzie had several marriages/relationship that produced children with different fathers. I had seen something that showed her as mother to tommie roberts and I found him and James in the 1910 & 1920 censuses with no mother for tommie-living with James' mother Mary Petree(spelling?) in the 1910.

Has anyone else seen anything on this Tommie Roberts?
weschel@mvn.net

I am an 8th generation descendant and am seeking to find any living relatives. I am especially interested in any of the older one's that may still be alive. My great-Uncle attemded this reunion in 1984 and has since passed away. I would like to know of anyone remotely connected. Thank you.

I am researching my ancestor Thomas Francis Roberts who was born in Manchester in 1848. He had 3 wives, 1st: Alice Hunter 1870, children: Eliza Jane, Ellen, Letitia; 2nd: Cecilia Genty 1876, children: James (my 2xgt grandfather: married Margaret Hogg), John Thomas, Thomas Francis, Ellen, Robert; 3rd: Sarah ?, children: Thomas, Bertha, Mary, Louis and Arthur. I don't really know much about his other children or their descemdants, so would love to here from anyone connected with them. I believe Thomas Francis Roberts died in 1906.
His parents were Eliza Young who was born in Dublin c. 1807 and James Roberts, a weaver born c.1898 in Wales. The fmaily lived mostly in the New Cross area of Manchester, in Ash Street and Junction Street.

William Roberts, Muscatine, Iowa?

My Grandfather was George William Roberts, born in Muscatine in April of 1896 and died in April of 1979. His parents are supposed to have been William Roberts and Sophia Schwartz, it is unknown when they married or divorced. They appear to have only had one child (George) together. After their divorce she married a cousin, Peter Geugel, and had several children (although I have lost contact with all of their offspring). It is believed he died in the 30s, with police notifying my Grandfather of the death. Possibility of him being buried in the Iowa City area, and rumors apparently existed that he had remarried and had another family. Unable to find anything else out about William, can anyone help me?

I have been told by my mother that (Sally)Sarah Elizabeth Roberts had Cherokee blood, but that all family records were lost in a flood. She married James M. Butler in 1840. Can anyone shed any light on this. I have a lot of the family records, but nothing lists native american heritage. I moved to Oklahoma and live in the midst of the trail of tears. It would be nice to see if I followed my ancestors from the East coast to Oklahoma.

LORD ROBERTS of COXWOLD, YORK

I'm looking for information on any "Lord Roberts" at all that lived in COXWOLD, York (or EASINGWOLD) around 1870-1910.

I have a great-great grandmother (Mary Jane Pemberton) who was a "housekeeper" for a "Lord Roberts of Coxwold, York" around this time. She had a child (Beattie Pemberton) in 1893 at age 16 while she was working as a domestic servant, we don't know who the father is.

Mary Jane was living at 3 Back Wood St, Bramley, Yorks (with her siblings and her mother Mary Jane, and stepfather William Roberts) in the 1891 census. About 8 years after her first daughter was born Mary Jane married James Claringburn Pearson. I don't know if she was still working at the Roberts household.

I would really appreciate any information on any Lord Roberts of Coxwold (and his servants) around this time (1860-1920) - or advice on where I could start looking!

Thank you

Apparently he was epileptic and the Dr guaranteed a cure for $20. I'm thinking George might have written to a Dr that his family knew because they had lived there.

Anyone know anything about a Roberts family in Jersey City, NJ?

TIA,
Nancy

Roberts from eastern PA 1800's, moved to OH

I'm trying to determine if Isaac Roberts, born 1803, Montgomery County, PA had brothers or sisters. Isaac and wife Mary S. Kein (born somewhere in PA circa 1815) moved to Ohio circa 1830 and can be confirmed in Licking County (near Newark, OH) 1840's, Mifflin Township, Franklin COunty, OH (port Columbus airport area) after 1856 but before 1860.

Yes, I am aware that "Isaac Roberts" was a common name in eastern PA during that time period but that's all I have for identification purposes.
