Hector, My G.G.Grandfather John Armistead Robinson was born in 1830 Pruntytown Va.(WV) son of Joshua Owen Robinson. Joshua served in the war of 1812 and as you may know the comanding officer of Fort McHenry, was a Armistead. I have often wondered if Armistead was a family name of the name of leader thought highly of . The spelling is not the same but close and at that time spelling depended on the person spelling. You don't say anything about other Robinson family other than a father that may have served in the Civil War, do you know of uncles or aunts that help to find the family in a more round about way?

Noticed your post on Col Robinson. Would like to get additional historical info on his life. I have transcribed his very extensive obituary from the Cumberland Times and would be happy to forward it to you. I was born in Patterson Creek, WV and, in fact, lived directly across the road from Col Robinson's home. My Aunt and Uncle owned the home for several years. Unfortunately, the current owners have allowed it to fall into disrepair. Would you happen to have a picture of it in the late 1800's or early 1900's. Also have a letter written by J. Humbird Smith to Aunt Grace that I have also transcribed. It is an interesting historical view of Patterson Creek.
Please provide your direct e-mail address and I'll send you the data that I have.

Contact me at wyatt11550@gimail.af.mil and I will send you a link to work that I believe shows how the 17th and 18th century Virginia Robinsons, Armisteads and Wiatts are connected ?
