I am looking for information on Clifford L. Root b.abt 1927 and Betty L. Root b.abt 1928. These two show up as grandchildren of Charles Williams in the 1930 census for Topeka, Shawnee Co, KS. Their mother is possibly Opal Irene Williams b. 01.01.1911 - she was not listed in the census entry, and I've been unable to find her anywhere in 1930, but she would have been the only female old enough to have had children. A great aunt [who was married to Charles yongest son - the same age as Clifford] says that she thinks that Betty married someone named Franklin. The great aunt said there was some type of scandal involved regarding the Williams/Root marriage and the family never spoke of the 2 children or of their father. Opal went on to remarry in the 1940s and have another family, but I don't recall ever meeting or hearing about Clifford and Betty. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
