Hi Sandy. I am so glad I have actually been able too get in contact with a family member on here. I would love to talk with you. I live in Tacoma, WA so meeting might be a slight problem. I am on Facebook, along with some of the Booksteins (Phyllis, Robbie, Steven, Bryan, Barry, Nora, Lisa) along with my mom and Judi (Hearst) Weisman. Like I said email me at Matt_Tucker@Juno.com. I would love to talk with you, so email me and I will give you my phone number. BTW, I posted the wrong website address for the MyHeritage.com family tree that I have created, so just copy and paste the following which is the correct website:

http://www.myheritage.com/site-30370671/tucker-web-site

I believe we are related. I might already have you on my family tree at MyHeritage.com (http://www.myheritage.com/sonin). My Samuel Rosen married to Leah is the son of my paternal great great granparents (Nathan Rosen married to Mariam). Samuel Rosen is the brother of my grandfather's (William Tucker) mother (Fannie Rosen, my great grandmother), therefore he is my great uncle. Fannie Rosen married Nathan Tucker. The only grandchildren I know about, which is from an 1999 family list, are Nancy and Sandy Friedman who are daughters of Irv Friedman and Esther (Rosen) Friedman. You may be either of those grandchildren or one that I am not aware of. Please email at Matt_Tucker@juno.com

Hi. i just got a copy of my great-grandfather's petition for Naturazation. From the document I found:

Herman Rosen was born Dec 15, 1892 in Grodna, Russia.

He immigrated July 9, 1912 on the Lapland into New York from Anthwarp.

He married Tillie and had three children born in NYC:
- Lillian born May 14, 1916 (my grandmother)
- Nathan born Dec 9, 1916
- Sarah born Feb 18, 1920.

The petition was signed Aug 31, 1922.

I searched the passenger list for the lapland, but could not find his name.

I have his marriage licence and on it his name is Hyman Beyegois. He married Tillie Rosen.

Any connections out there? any suggestions what I can do with this new information?

I was hoping to find someone who has Peggy Shomo Joyner's book on the Rosen-Roosen family. One of my Stauffer ancestors married a Henry Roosen in Montgomery County, PA, and I know there's an appendix on the Stauffer family in Peggy's book. I would like to know what info is in that book on the Stauffer family. I will try to get a copy through inter-library loan, but I just thought it might be worth a shot to ask here too.

My father's aunt Sophie Taffel married Benjamin (Boruch) Korn in New York in 1891 after they had arrived separately from Galicia, she from Bielsko-Biala, he from Sokolow. Their first son William Korn was the father of 5 children, one of whom, Sylvia had married a Nathan Rosen who was originally from the Chicago area. They had lived in Buffalo, NY for many years where most of the Korn siblings, born in Columbus, Ohio, reside. So Sylvia is my second cousin.

Hi again. unfortunately, i'm in Ohio now, But I AM up there, in NH, a couple times a year. Was actually just up for Thanksgiving. Go figure.
That is very cool about the graves, and yes, I would love to see the pics. So, exactly who's daughter are you anyway? Morris, Sydney, or Bernard? Just curious.
I wish I could say I had more memories of that side of the family, but unfortunately, my mom and dad,(John),were divorced when I was young, and we moved a lot, so..
Do you have a daughter by any chance? I'm told I have a twin that's one you guy's daughter, apparantly. Enough so, that my little brother, Jeff Rosen, thought it was me showing up at his work a few years back. hehe.
well, great hearing from you. thank you. and I can be reached directly at tigginjenn@yahoo.com. maybe the next time I'm up that way, we can get together. Thanks again.
Jennifer Rosen Swartzentruber

Olga Rosen

I'm looking for any information I can get on my grandmother, Olga Makarowski. Rosen is her maiden name, she had my father (Karl) out of wedlock and then married, Nicolaus Makarowski. As far as I know she was born in Germany in 1899. I would like to know more about my dads side of the family. since we don't know his fathers name, I am hoping to find anyone related to Olga who might know

Looking for a Roson family that was around in the 1980's. Grandfather Roson lived near Redbird Texas. Memory seems that he was in WWII and somehow lost his hair, when it came back, it was curly, hence the nickname Curley. We have a name of Byron V. Roson....but unsure if this is correct. We have a Native American Connection from Choctaws in Oklahoma.
Samuel Rosen, New Hampshire, 1900-1942

Seeking information on Samuel Rosen, born 1881 in Russia, married to Ollie Weinberg. Samuel and Ollie are in 1910 census in Worchester, Mass., and in 1920 and 1930 census in Laconia, Belknap Co., New Hampshire. According to the censuses, Samuel immigrated to US in 1890, 1897, or 1900, and was nathuralized in 1905. Ollie was born ca 1885 in New York; her parents were Russian. Both Samuel and Ollie were Jewish, it would appear, since census records indicate Yiddish as a native language for both. Samuel owned/managed a retail clothing store in Laconia, NH.
Any info or clues would be appreciated. Thanks
Barbara

Thanks for the note. I do believe we are probably cousins. How are you related to Simon and Dina?

My great aunt told me that my great grandfather Harry died and that there wasn't enough money for the cemetery plot so Harry's cousin donated the lots. The cousin (Simon)was a wealthy lawyer. In fact my great grandfather and grandmother are supposed to be buried next to Simon and Dina at Waldheim Cemetery in Chicago.

So that is how I connected your family in my tree. It's amazing how you can find a new branch of family with just a little bit of information from someone's memory. Unfortunately my research ends at Harry and Becky.

I do have additional information (e.g., census data from my Rosen family in Chicago). If you are interested please respond to my personal email at julmor@aol.com.

Hope to hear from you!
Julie
