my great grandfather William Rudolph came to America in abt 1889...and married my great grandmother Clara Firstner in Ohio ...then they moved to NYS...first to Erie County, then to Chautauqua County. After the 1910 Census, I lost track of William...as the 1920 and 1930 Census' are contradicting...the 1920 says that Clara is a widow, and the 1930 says that she was divorced.
they had Raymond, Sabina (married name Tyrrell), Hazel, Gertrude (married name Morey), Henry and Charles. Most of the kids stayed in the Dunkirk Fredonia area, Ray moved to Springville NY and for a while Gertrude lived in Florida, but moved back to Fredonia.
I'm not sure who Raymond married, or if there were children.
Sabina married Campbell Tyrrell of Canada and had only one son named Richard (who may still be alive) and at the time of her death, she had three grandchildren in the Buffalo NY area.
Hazel is my grandmother, so I'm aware of all of her decendants.
Gertrude married Wilbur Morey they had a son Edward, who died in 2002. and a duaghter Constance who may be alive, I'm not sure.

if any of this sound familiar to anyone, please contact me.

Also...I'd like information on William...his parents, where he is from. and Clara...her parents...etc.

She is listed in the 1900 Census as living in Detroit as a servant to the Bennett family. She married my g-grandfather, Irwin Henne in 1901 and died in Lima Ohio in 1961. Any help to help find her mother or track the Rudolph name back further would be extremely helpful. Thanks in advance

Gregor Johannes Rudolph (1838-1903) --any family contacts in Kansas or California?

I have quite a bit of basic info on Gregor & wife/children, but lots of loose ends too. There once existed a booklet: The Gregor Rudolph family, assembled by his granddaughter Magdalena(?)Rudolph, and the copy received by our branch of the family was lost back in the 1970s:-(

If anyone is working on this family's lines ...or miracles of miracles--is a branch of the family that has a copy of the booklet-- I would love to work together. The family was in the village of Zella (Eichsfeld, Thuringia, Germany) for centuries, Gregor immigrated (1866) to Illinois (Mostly Evansville) and then settled in Kansas (Paxico, Newbury Twp). Children settled in Kansas (Leo, Anna [Stork], Maggie [Rogge], Charles) and California (John) and Oregon (Joseph). If I could track down where Maggie (granddaughter) was a member of the convent (Carmel area, California?) --maybe there is a copy donated to a library.

I have been told there are many descendents of related families in the Paxico area, but don't know how to make contact (Leo married Josephine Hund, Anna married John Stork, Maggie married Nicholas Rogge, in Kansas).

I have visited the lovely Kansas cemetery (Sacred Heart)near Paxico, where Gregor, & wife Maria Elisabeth and some children rest --have stone info, and more... to share. Suggestions welcome!

Help!! I don't know where i came from

at least on this side of the family. I got back to my great grandparents...on my father's mother's side...and i'm stuck.
My Father was William DiLorenzo, His mother was Hazel Rudolph DiLorenzo, her parents were William and Clara Rudolph. William was born in Germany around 1870 (i forget...it's in my tree though)...and Clara was born in Ohio, and i don't know her maiden name. nor can i find out much else information about their families beyond their children. in 1890 they lived in Evans NY with their eldest son, Raymond who was born in 1895, then moved to Dunkirk NY and had their other children, such as gertrude, Henry, Hazel, Subina (or Sabrina), Charles. and other than Charles Marrying Elton Williamson (who recently passed)..I don't know anything else (unless it's in my tree...a few SS Death records and a few Censuses)...but if any one knows of William...and his parents and his family...that'd be of great help!! thanks.

Martin Van Buren Rudolph and Rose Mary McNorton had fifteen children, all born in Baltimore. We have identified ten: Harman 1834-1898, Mary Elizabeth 1835-1873, Thomas McNorton 1838-1838, Martin Van Buren Jr. 1839-1907, Catherine 1842-1871, Mary Francis 1844- , John 1846 – before 1860, Matthew 1849-1897, Sarah Ann 1854-1856, and Rose 1856 – 1948.
There was at least one more child who reached maturity. I am writing the second edition to the family history and really would like to identify the rest of the children, especially the one who reached maturity and who may have married and had a family.

Any information would be appreciated and as always, if you are of the family I am willing to share the enormous amount of material that I have accumulated with the assistance of many cousins.
Catherine

Rudolph Family DNA Project

I am the group administrator for the Rudolph Family DNA Project at Family Tree DNA (http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Rudolph/). This project uses high-tech DNA to help people get past brick walls in genealogy research.

I am currently stuck on my personal brick wall: Peter Rudolph, Sr., who was born (ca. 1765) and married (1798) in Philadelphia before moving to Fairfield County, Ohio, with his family. There are rumors in the family that Peter's father was Captain Jacob Rudolph from the American Revolution, but no hard evidence. I'm hoping to use this
DNA analysis to find relatives that can help me get past my brick wall, but this project is open to any and all Rudolph family members in hopes of helping people find "genetic cousins" and encouraging genealogy research. You can get more information by clicking the link above and deciding for yourself if this is something you're interested in.

Regards,
Pat Rudolph

Rudolph

I am seeking information regarding Etta Rudolph (my Grandmother) who was born in the United States in the 1870's. Her parents were from Germany in the Black Forest or Dresden area when they came to America, but I don't know where they originally settled. I don't know their given names, but they had 2-children...Etta and Willem. Their father started a carpet factory in Norwalk, Ct. and created the "hit-and-miss" design which, I believe, is still used today as well as inventing some improvements in the looms and machinery used in carpet making. My Great-grandmother Rudolph was an accomplished artist and musician. My Great-uncle, Willem, married a woman named Mary (no last name known) and they had lived in Providence, RI. "Uncle Willie", as he was known, had been a 6-day bicycle rider and auto racer when he was younger and apparantly was responsible for some inventions of various machinery connected with the automobile industry. Anyone with any information can E-mail me at briandow@yahoo.com...and thank you.

Source: http://www.army.mil/cmh-pg/moh1.htm

RUDOLPH, DONALD E.

Rank and organization: Second Lieutenant, U.S. Army, Company E, 20th Infantry, 6th Infantry Division. Place and date: Munoz, Luzon, Philippine Islands, 5 February 1945. Entered service at: Minneapolis, Minn. Birth: South Haven, Minn. G.O. No.: 77, 10 September 1945. Citation: 2d Lt. Rudolph (then T/Sgt.) was acting as platoon leader at Munoz, Luzon, Philippine Islands. While administering first aid on the battlefield, he observed enemy fire issuing from a nearby culvert. Crawling to the culvert with rifle and grenades, he killed 3 of the enemy concealed there. He then worked his way across open terrain toward a line of enemy pillboxes which had immobilized his company. Nearing the first pillbox, he hurled a grenade through its embrasure and charged the position. With his bare hands he tore away the wood and tin covering, then dropped a grenade through the opening, killing the enemy gunners and destroying their machinegun. Ordering several riflemen to cover his further advance, 2d Lt. Rudolph seized a pick mattock and made his way to the second pillbox. Piercing its top with the mattock, he dropped a grenade through the hole, fired several rounds from his rifle into it and smothered any surviving enemy by sealing the hole and the embrasure with earth. In quick succession he attacked and neutralized 6 more pillboxes. Later, when his platoon was attacked by an enemy tank, he advanced under covering fire, climbed to the top of the tank and dropped a white phosphorus grenade through the turret, destroying the crew. Through his outstanding heroism, superb courage, and leadership, and complete disregard for his own safety, 2d Lt. Rudolph cleared a path for an advance which culminated in one of the most decisive victories of the Philippine campaign.

BURIAL INFORMATION

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota

Cemetery: Fort Snelling National Cemetery

Born: 1921 South Haven, MN

Died: 2006

Additiona Information:http://www.homeofheroes.com/gravesites/states/pages_pz/rudol...

Bio: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Rudolph

Note: This is not my ancestry.
RUDOLPH, Norma Faye (McNew)

Mrs. Rudolph

The Hamilton Herald-News November 2, 2006

Norma Faye McNew died Oct. 26, 2006 at Hamilton. Funeral services were held Oct. 28 at St. John Lutheran Church in Hamilton with Russell Nebhut officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery. She was born June 30, 1927, the daughter of Alfred and Melissa McNew of Comanche County. Her family lived in
the Gustine community where Mrs. Rudolph attended school and where in church she learned of God's love for her in Christ.

She was married to John Rudolph on June 3, 1962, in Hamilton, by Elder Len Dalton. Mr. Rudolph worked as a cotton ginner for years and the couple traveled with the cotton harvest all over west Texas.

Mrs. Rudolph traveled with her husband for a time and then began to seek employment in the Hamilton community.

Having made their home in Hamilton, the couple became members of St. John Lutheran where Mrs. Rudolph was received into membership by Pastor Albert Wuensche in 1978. They loved their church and were active until illness prevented them from attending on a regular basis. Mrs. Rudolph worked as the
activity director for Hillcrest Nursing Home in Hamilton, a position she enjoyed for 23 years.

Her years of experience in the nursing home provided the necessary knowledge and skills to care for her husband as he faced many health issues near the end of his life.

Mrs. Rudolph was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Oliver, Dutch, and LeeRoy; and two sisters, Freddie Ballard and an infant sister who passed away shortly after birth. Survivors include her brother Oliver's wife, Leona McNew, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Dwight Bullington, Don Rudolph, Charles McNew, Larry Max Rudolph, James Sohm, Joe Tipton and John Tipton.
Riley Funeral Home

“People and Places: Gazetteer of Hamilton County, TX
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~gazetteer2000/

Rudolph/Schafers

I am looking for descendants of either the Schafer or Rudolph Families. The Schafers and Rudolphs lived in Straub, Saratov, Russia.
My Great Grandfather, Michael (mikhail) Rudolph was instrumental in building the church in Straub. He had a fleet of boats and also had several acres of farmland.
My Grandparents, Carl and Anna (Rudolph) Schafer, came to Fresno, Calif in the early 1900s. Im not sure whether relatives of Schafers or Rudolph went to Argentina since they were turned away at Staten Island. Stories I have heard is that they resided in La Pampa, Argentina and did very well for themselves.
My understanding is that some relatives stayed back in Straub. (Schafer and /or Rudolph). If they did, its likely they did not survive. Perhaps if they did, there might be a small chance that relatives are also looking for descendants. Please email me at Grnb5@aol.com.

I am looking for any infomation about Henry Rudolph who was in the Bexar, Uvalde and Kinney Counties of Texas by 1858. He was born c. 1830 in Hesse Kassel Germany. He married Amelia Hilpbrecht in Bexar Co. on October 5, 1858. They had 2 daughters Elizabeth Louisa (1859) and Wilhelmina (1863). Henry died on December 29, 1863. He was a fairly affluent stock raiser at Fort Clark, Kinney Co., TX before his death. Does Henry fit into your Rudolph family? I can't find any further information about him such as when he arrived in the U.S. or exactly from where. Thanks.

Donald Rudolph, 85, WWII hero and Medal of Honor recipient

BOVEY, Minn. - Donald E. Rudolph Sr., who received a Medal of Honor for bravery for destroying two Japanese machine-gun nests during World War II, has died. He was 85.

Rudolph died Thursday of complications from Alzheimer's disease, said Itasca County Veterans Services Officer Marvin Ott, who spoke with Rudolph's wife, Helen, on Friday. Then, when his unit came under fire from a tank, he climbed onto the tank and dropped a white phosphorus grenade through the turret, killing the crew.

According to the U.S. Army Center of Military History, "Rudolph cleared a path for an advance which culminated in one of the most decisive victories of the Philippine campaign."

Rudolph, who was struck by shrapnel, was promoted to second lieutenant.

As a recipient of the prestigious medal, Rudolph attended several presidential inaugurations, where he met Presidents Kennedy, Nixon, Carter, Reagan, George H.W.

Fred Otto Rudolph, former well-known motorman at the Park Avenue station, died at his home here on April 15. Mr. Rudolph was 39 years old and had been in the employ of the present company and its predecessors for nearly fourteen years at the time of his death. He was buried at Woollam, MO, the place of his birth. He is survived by his wife, two children, Raymond and Frances, his father and mother, two brothers and four sisters. The pallbearers, all employes of the Company, were: J. P. Personett, R. Rudisaile, W. H. Wilke, Henry Busch, John Vernon, and Paul Skidmore. Mr. Skidmore was the last conductor to work with Mr. Rudolph.

I am not related, but I have a copy of The Public Servicer, a magazine published by member of the Public Service Company. Motormen on the streetcars were a part of this company.

There is also a picture of Fred Otto Rudolph that I would be happy to scan to anyone interested. It is on page 8 of the magazine.

Zebulon, Edward, Julia Rudolph of Maryland and Kansas

I have recently learned that my great grandmother's maiden name was Rudolph. She was the daughter of Edward Wallington and Mary J.(Chadwick) Rudolph originally of Maryland, and later of Kansas, Shawnee County. Julia Rudolph was the seventh child, born in 1864. Other siblings listed were Ella Jane in 1949, Frank in 1850, Edward in 1853, Tobias in 1855, Mary in 1858, Nellie in 1861, Julia in 1964 and Laura in 1867. Their father, Edward Wallington Rudolph, born in 1819 in Cecil County, Maryland, was the son of Zebulon and Anna Milnor, who were from Head of Elk (now Elkton), Cecil County, Maryland. Most of the Edward Rudolph family, I believe, was born in Arkansas or Kansas. Any connections to any of these families would be most welcome! Thank you!

Am seraching for my gr gr grandparents. They were in Canada in 1860 it was thought they married in 1865 but the 1870 Ohio US census says the first born was in 1861. The names of their children are as follows:
Elizabeth; Emelie and Albert. Albert was my great grandfather. All the children were born in Canada according to the census. It is my understanding that Andrew and Marion (could be Miria) were both born in Switzerland. If any one has any info please contact me as this is as far as I have been able to go with my Rudolph line. The spelling of the last name may have varied as well ( Rudolf)
Albert m Augusta L Graves abt 1869

Hudoff>Rudolph>Rudolf GERMANY-INDIANA-IOWA

Maybe someone can help me. I have a copy of a naturalization record for a John Rudolph. His name was John Hudoff (had a father named George). He (John) was born 1836 in possibly Alsace-Lorraine area that was owned by Germany at the time. The record states that he was a native of Hanover but came from Bremen to New York on December 6, 1853. Last name changed from Rudolph to Rudolf in the next generation. They lived in Indiana (Lawrenceburg)- Dearborn and Franklin county areas. Some of them migrated to Madison County, Iowa, where many Rudolfs still lived and many are buried. My grandmother was a Rudolf before marriage. Please let me know if anyone has any information on this family. I know that John Rudolph was married to a Maria Margaret Volz but family records also indicate marriage to a "Florence Nokey", but no records for her in the census. Any help is appreciated.
~Tasha Adix (Tracy)

I am searching for information on my great grandmother Olga Rudolph. She was born on May 1 1880 in Germany. Her parents were Franz and Matilda Rudolph. Her brothers and sister names were Hedwig, Freida, Ernest, Herman, and Alfred. They came to America in 1895 from Germany. They settled in Massachusetts where Olga married Oscar Erickson. Olga died in 1923 after giving birth to my grandfather, Carl Erickson. Oscar died shortly after. If anybody has any information on this family I would appreciate it.Thank you, Dawn

Does anyone have an Elijah Rudolph (spelled Eliga on the 1900 Census?). According to his son Anthony's marriage certificate, his wife's name was Martha B Harris.

Elijah was listed as living in Massac, KY for the 1900 census.

He may or may not be the son of Wiley Rudolph.

Jason

Rudolph - Anderson, Montgomery Co TN>Izard Co AR

Margaret "Peggy" Rudolph (ca1793-1851) married Richard Anderson around 1815 in Montgomery Co TN. I'm seeking verification that Robert C. Anderson was their son.

ROBERT ANDERSON was bondsman for the marriage of Thomas Stewart and Margaret Anderson in 1839. He may be the Robert C. Anderson, born around 1815 in Tennessee of parents born in Tennessee, who in 1860 is found in the household of Edwin Rudolph in Ballard Co KY. In 1870 he's there with the family of David Rudolph, and in 1880 he's in Izard Co AR with Silas Rudolph. According to a WorldConnect submission, Silas was the son of Henry and Mary (Hutchison) Rudolph of Montgomery Co TN. Robert was a carpenter. In all the censuses in which he's been found thus far he is listed as single.
Frederick/Fredrick Rudolph

I would like to find my paternal great-great-grandfather, Frederick (or Fredrick) Rudolph. All I know about him for sure is that he married Caroline (Carrie) Rebecca Williams at the Grace Lutheran Church in Rochester, NY in November of 1890. They had a son, Arthur Frederick, in 1891. We believe that Carrie died shortly after the birth of their son, and Frederick remarried. We also believe that he was an immigrant, but we are not sure if it is from Germany, Austria or another German-speaking country.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Jen
