Surnames: Russell, Roussel, LaBrake, LaBrecque, DeGray
Looking for information on Mitchell RUSSELL, born in Canada c. 1841, moved to the US and lived in upstate NY (Malone, Westerville, etc) with his wife Lucy (LABRAKE? LABRECQUE? born c. 1845 in NY).
Their daughter, Emma Amelia, married David Nelson DEGRAY and became the mother of my grandfather, Walter R DEGRAY.
Mitchell and Lucy also had other children: Delia, Eben, Jerry, John, and George.
I can't seem to find any information on what his name was before it was Americanized, if it was, which I believe it must have been...perhaps Michel ROUSSEL? In any case, the Michel ROUSSELS I've been able to find don't seem to be the one I'm looking for.
If anyone has information on Mitchell's parents (or anything else), I'd sure appreciate it....
