Hi Jacob!

My Great aunt Josie (Josephine Rygiel) had a sister named Angela Rygiel who married my grandfather William Joseph Caron (i.e. my uncle Joe Caron's father). Joe lives in Vegas, I am planning on visiting him next month! I have been pestering him to talk with Walter Karnas Jr. to get more information on where the Rygiels were from and he said that they came from Sonek, Poland. (Not sure if that is correct though, I am thinking Sonsk or Sanok instead).

My great aunt Josie and I were very close when I was growing up. She used to make perogies and rosetta cookies for me all the time! She used to live in Post Office Square in Lowell, MA. I remember the name Walter Karnas and I do in fact have it in my family tree as listed as Aunt Josie's first husband (I guess she had 3). She passed away in Arizona in 1997.

I have so many questions that I am hoping you may be able to answer.

I know that Josephine's parents were Jan Rygiel and Agatha Klecha (Klatka). Jan's parents were Pioter Rygiel and Marya Sokol (according to Jan's death cert).

I have been struggling with trying to figure out where in Poland the Rygiel's originated from (i.e. where Pioter and Marya were from).
