I am looking for the family of Sarah Schuhan who married Arthur Salem. He had changed his name from Azar to Salem. They lived in Worcester Ma. Sarah had a sister Ray Shuhan who married Myer Friedman. Am looking to find the Shuhan family.

Hi Carlota, I do remember my grandmother Ulpiana whose brother was Pedro and they live in Bulacan. My mother passed away three years ago and my curiosity about our family line especially on her side did not die down and yet right now, I am really passionate about finding a way to once and for all resolve my years of curiosity. We are all interested on this, why not start a hunt on where our real line was from. My email is vixx2k@gmail.com hope, this can be the way I had long been looking for. Hi there, I had always been curious about my grandmothers' origin as her middle name was Salem originally from Samar. Since she passed away three years ago I had always been desiring to know which lineage was she from considering that she always claims she was a Turkish Jew whose great grandparents transferred to the Philippines. She was an orphan and was separated from her family even before the WW2. Hope someone can help me with this. My email is vixx2k@gmail.com

hehe its weird because my great grandfather's name was Maximo Salem and he looked muslim as from what my father says.
he's a cebuano so maybe we're talkin bout the same Maximo salem hehe

Looking for info. on WWII vet Sam Salem (sp?) stationed in Ohio

I'm not sure about the correct spelling of the last name, but my mom's birth father was a Sam Salem (possibly from Sicily) who was stationed in the US Army in 1942 in Marion, Ohio. I believe his parents came here from abroad. Around 1942, he dated an Anna Mae Auman from Tiro, Ohio. They had a daughter in June of 1943. I would love to find more info. on Sam if possible. I found someone who could be him through a search, but can't confirm as he passed away in 1981, and I can find no record of a marriage or children. I don't want anything other than to find family history and possible half-siblings for my mom (the daughter born in June of 1943).

I'm from the Philippines with maiden name Salem. My parents originated from Cebu, Philippines. I remember my grandfather Maximo Salem looked like an Arab. I'm also researching about my great gandfather Pedro Salem. My hunch is that great great grandfather was an Arab and one of the moors that came to the Philippines with the Spanish fleet in the 1800s. You can search about the moors. Im sear-
ching for more accurate informations because he has many namesake all over the world including Norway, Brazil, Middle East South and Central America. So we still have to find out.

DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Spc. Adriana N. Salem, 21, of Elk Grove Village, Ill., died Mar. 4 in Remagen, Iraq when her military vehicle rolled over. Salem was assigned to the 3rd Forward Support Battalion, Division Support Command, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.

The incident is under investigation.

Joe, this is Ausa (Salem) Faria and just recently, I started my geneaology search for further information on Mauro, my grandfather (dad's dad). I really don't have anything to report, but if you have further information please post back. I'd really like to learn more about your mom's info. and our Auntie Julie's info. This is very important since I now have my own child and no one seems to have that information on our ancestry. Bizarre? Yes, I think so.

I am posting info on some family members who are from Alexandria Egypt. I am wondering if anyone knows a Leila(Layla) Magdev(?) Salem who is an actress over there. She is the sister of Mohammed Salem who was born in Alexandria Egypt 1920-1998 he was 77 when he died. Mohammed left Egypt around 1942 and joined the Merchant Marines; later he settled in New Jersey and got married. If this sounds like something you know about please post a reply.

Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003

William P. Salem Jr., 26, of Concord, died Jan. 9 at home. He was born in
Manchester and attended Manchester West School. He lived in Manchester
most of his life, moving to Concord two years ago. He enjoyed all sports and
video games. Survivors include his father, William Salem Sr. of Manchester;
his mother, Brenda Duval of Allenstown; his wife, Trish (Latsiou) Salem; two
sons, Elijah Salem and William Salem III, both of Pembroke; two stepsons,
Zachary Latsiou and Ryan Latsiou, both of Manchester; a stepdaughter,
Felicia Worster of Manchester; three brothers, Christopher Salem of
Allenstown, Joshua Salem of Concord and Isiah Salem of Manchester; and
many aunts, uncles and cousins. Calling hours will not be held. A memorial
service will be held at a later date. The Waters Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.

Note: I am of no relation, but my sympathies go out to those of you who are.
This is here as a lasting memorial for Mr. Salem.

We are an Indonesian from province of Sulawesi Utara (North Celebes) nearby the Philippines. Most of the maiden name of SALEM were living in POIGAR (MINAHASA) around 100 km of southern Manado the capital city of North Celebes. According to my parents our name Salem came from the North (maybe Philippines.and as a merchant came to Poigar and settled there.Maybe we were same descendant. Who knows?
