Funeral services for Harry Dale Salisbury,81,were held Saturday,May 27,at Sellergren-Lindell Funeral Home with the Rev.John Crosswhite of Emerson officiating and burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Military rites were by Red Oak's 1168th Transportation Co. of Iowa National Guard. Mr. Salisbury died Wednesday,May 24, at Veteran's Hospital,Omaha after an illness of three weeks.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry H. Salisbury,he was born here July 20,1896, and was married in 1919 to Inis Pearl Straw,who died in 1965.
He was a World War I veteran with service in England and France.He had operated Salisbury-Dorrell Used Auto Parts with his son-in-law Clifford Dorrell and moved to Griswold from Red Oak in 1955 after his retirement. For the past five years he had been a resident of Atlantic Care Center at Atlantic. Surviving are two sons,Harry Dean of Shenandoah and Michael,of Omaha;two daughters,Mrs.Richard Isaacson of Red Oak, and Mrs.Alfred Allison of Silverdale,Wash.;14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Salisbury was a member of Griswold's American Legion Post and of the Salvation Army.
(Note..Mrs. Richard Isaacon was Gayle Maxine Salisbury,first husband was Clifford Dorrell. Mrs. Alfred Allison was Frances Joy Salisbury. Two other sons preceded Harry in death: Russell Leland b.11 June 1926,d.4 June 1930.and Charles Marvel b.25 Aug.1929,d.1 June 1945.)
