Joshua Sayer was a native of Deal in England, when he
married his first wife Ann Duhceine in the year 1723.
Their son Joshua was born 1st Oct. 1724.
Their son Lewis was born 26th Feby. 1726.
Their daughter Ann was born 7th Augt. 1727.
Their daughter Elizabeth was born 10th March 1729.
Their son Joshua was born 30th May 1738, and his wife died
the 19th September 1738.
He was again married to Anstis Almy of Newport R.I. Sept. 25th 1740
Their daughter Abigail was born 8th July 1741.
Their Son Benjamin was born 20th June 1743.
Their Son Joshua was born 10th Feby. 1746.
Their Daugter [sic] Anstis was born 23rd Sept. 1747.
Their Daughter Ann was born 1st Decem. 1749.
Their Daughter Elizabeth was born 18th April 1753.
Their Son Lewis was born 6th Augt. 1755.
Their Daughter Mary was born 18th Novr. 1758.

Their daughter Abigail married William Potter & by him had Sons & daughters
Their Son Benjamin married Sally James and Rebecca James & by them had Sons & daughters
Their Son Joshua married Rebecca Sanford & by her had Sons & daughters
Their daughter Anstis married James Godfrey & by him had Sons & daughters
Their daughter Ann married Wm. Howland & by him had Sons & daughters
Their Son Lewis married Patience Hathaway & by her had Sons & daughters

Congregational Church of Newport, R.I.]
The Second Congregational Church was
founded 11th April 1728 – it consisted of 7 members.
Rev. John Adams was 1st Pastor – he added
20 members to the Church.
Rev. James Leven was his successor
He added 40 members to the Church
Doctor Ezra Stiles succeeded Rev. Leven and
added 95 members to the church.
Revd. Doct. Patten succeeded him and added
76 members to the Church previous
to 11th April 1828
The Church at the completion of the Century
Consists of 30 finale members
April 13th Tenbridge Hammond and
Clarke ??? was added to the Church.
