I have found that Irene left for Canada where she married in 1925 to a Harold Phillips
Lived in the Sault St Marie area I believe as this is where they were married

Their son Joshua was born 1st Oct. 1724.
Their son Lewis was born 26th Feby. 1726.
Their daughter Ann was born 7th Augt. 1727.
Their daughter Elizabeth was born 10th March 1729.
Their son Joshua was born 30th May 1738, and his wife died
the 19th September 1738.
He was again married to Anstis Almy of Newport R.I. Sept. 25th 1740
Their daughter Abigail was born 8th July 1741.
Their Son Benjamin was born 20th June 1743.
Their Son Joshua was born 10th Feby. 1746.

Looking for further information on the following in particular the marriage and Lionel Why did Lionel lie about his past where he was from?

Lionel was born Feb 1893 ( I have the certificate) in Wales His parents were Emmanuel Thomas Sayer and Sarah A Robson
Emanuel died in 1908 Sarah died in 1918 (she remarried after Emanuels death)
Lionel was in the Army Surrey regiment I found a Lionel P Sayers who was in the Surrey Regiment and as of 1916 he was listed as a deserter
I believe the Lionel I found on on the marraige certificate to Nancy to be the Lionel I am searchig for can anyone help me find more information on this family

in Kirkmichael in 1931 Lionel stated his parent were George Burton Sayer ( actaully this was an uncle) Eileen Margaret Fergusen ( this was the fist name of a cousin I tnink he made up the name Fergusen)
Seaman is a possiblity He put Robson in his name which is the maiden name of his mother No he was not from Australia
Nancys parents are listed as Daniel and Martha Gibb

Why did Lionel lie was it due to a bad record in the Army?
He was last seen in England in 1932/1933
Where was Nancy at this time ? nancy in 1945 died with the married name Jennings

I have tied several times over the past 8 years to try and find Lionel P Sayer but no luck maybe this time I will get the answers
Lionel was born in 1893 Wales to Emanuel and Sarah sayer
Emmanuel was a coach driver and Sarah domestic servant
From Wales they went to Doncaster More children born Alexander/Florence and Wilfred I have all there information Lionel remains a mystery
I know he was in he ast Surrey Reg during the war have a photo of Lionel in his uniform

Donald Lawrence Sayer, 69, of Watertown, N.Y., a U.S. Marine Corps veteran formerly of Reston, died May 4 at his home in Florida.

A service will be held May 16 at 11 a.m. at Covenant Funeral Service Chapel in Fredericksburg. Burial will follow in Quantico National Cemetery.

Mr. Sayer was born Jan. 11, 1939, to the late Stanley W. Sayer and Eleanor Donovan Sayer. He lived in Reston from 1979 until about 2002. He retired from Lockheed Martin, where he had been a software manager.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Sayer of Watertown; two daughters, Lynda Francis of Fredericksburg, and Catherine Sayer of Herndon; a brother, Stanley W. Sayer of Williamsville, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society, c/o Trudy Clifton, 113 Tallpines Ave., Locust Grove, VA 22508; American Heart Association Memorial Processing Center, Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058; or the National Kidney Foundation of Virginia, 2601 Willard Road, Suite 103, Richmond, VA 23294.

Looking to contact anyone of the Sayer name who has an ancestor from Germany in the mid-1800's. At this point in time there were only 5 male Sayer's who emigrated to America from Germany and they were from either Baden or Wuerttemberg. I am one of their decendants
and have knowledge of these five men. I am grandson of Johann Georg Sayer from Staufen,Baden, Germany. The others are Karl, Johanes, Leopold and Joseph, from Rexingen in Wuerttemberg, Germany. Leopold and Joseph lived in California and died there. These are the only members of the entire German Sayer family from Baden or Wuerttemberg dating from, 1590 up to mid 1800's who went to America. Therefore if any one's ancestor came from Germany, you would be part of this family. I have yet to contact any German Sayer with these men as ancestors. I am looking for info on the parents of Henrietta Pease Sayer b abt 1862 in RI and later married Lansing Nelson Lewis. I know the Pease part from my own family's notes and according to the 1900 census, her parents were born in RI and CT. From 1870 census records, she was living with Sarah Sayer (b. abt 1858 in OH) and Susan Sayer (b abt 1827 in RI) with a family (no men, though) named Sutton. I suspect that Sarah is her sister (they were 8 and 12 at the time). I don't think Susan was their mother since she was born in RI and Henrietta's mother was born in CT (unless the 1900 census is incorrect). Any assistance appreciated.

Looking for information on family of Thomas Sayer born c 1811, Kent UK. Married to a Mary ? also born c 1811 in Kent.
They had three children born in Wingham, Kent, Thomas G c 1834, Henry c 1836 and John J c 1838. They then moved to Wapping, Middlesex (East End of London) about 1839, where they had 5 more children, George E 1842, Joseph B 1849, Eliza 1851, Emilie 1853, Sarah 1840 (info from 1861 census). Sarah married William Rice 1860 at St George in the East, and I am a descendent of this line.

Thomas G Sayer married Amelia ? about 1865, Three children (per 1871 census) Winefred 1866, Alice 1868, Thomas G 1870.

Would appreciate info on this family and make contact with other descendents of this line to piece together the story of this family.

Has anyone run across information on a Byron-Sayers family, supposedly had lived in FL.
Byron father, William?, (b. abt 1840, ,Scotland?) may have been in civil war? He abondoned family.
Byron mother (maiden name Belle Sayers (spelling?) of PA?) later abondoned the 2 children. She may have lived in Northern WI in her latter years, Children ended up in Devils Lake ND on a farm, with a family by the name of Moore.
That abandoned son William, b 1-15-1866, moved to MN as a young adult. He married Catherine Frances Murphy, b. 1872 MN, who then lived in ND, Her parents were John, b 1854, Ireland and Sarah McHenry Murphy, b 10-1859, Canada. They died in MN, and other children included Rose, Celia, Sada, John, James, Frances, Clarence, Fred, Henry and William, all born ND, MN or WI....except Rose who was born in OH?
Abandoned sister Odelia, b. abt 1867 (m. C Sommers) moved to state of WA. Children included Allan, Genevive and Wilfred, b WI and ND.
I have been unable to find anything about John and Sarah McHenry Murphy and little about their children....siblings to Catherine.
I have also been unable to find anything about parents of William and Odelia Byron, or family of Odelia Byron Sommers.

Henry or Maggie SAYER

I am wondering if anyone has a Henry SAYER in their research. Henry was born in 1847 in Chesterfield, Eng. He has no descendants. (My Great Grandmother's second Husband) His sister Maggie (SAYER) PAUL had sons but I havent found out how many. Henry was a solicitor and then Town clerk for Sheffield for a time. He died on December 24, 1916. Somehow photos of Henry and Maggie were given to a library in the States so I presume that either Maggie PAUL or her descendats would up in the US.

I have an Admon for a John SAYER, bachelor and mariner who died 6 April 1823 granted to Thomas SAYER, sailor, and Elizabeth FRAIN, widow, both of Whitby, and the only next of kin.

Has anyone come across a SAYER / FRAIN marriage? I don't think Elizabeth married in Whitby - unless she had been previously widowed.

Lionel P Sayer born 1890's in Wales to Sarah and Emanuel Sayer. We think he joined the British Army and was last heard in the 1940's. He might have married a Scottish girl.

Very little information regarding Florence we know she was alive when Emanuel died in 1909 Warmsworth Doncaster
It is thought she moved to Ulcby Linconshire when her mother remarried (6 Months after there father died)
Sarah Married a Harry Carr ... my grandfather did not like his stepfather... the children were made to use their stepfathers last name in school. Once my grandfather was old wnough he cut ties with his mother

(There was another Brother Alexander he died aged 21 during WW1 burried in belgium)

I am searching for all references to the Sayer/Sayre/Sair family of North Yorkshire/Durham/Cleveland areas, one branch oif whom eventually emigrated to USA.

My ancestor Michael Sayer (1841-1806) of Hutton Bonville, an agricultural labourer, married Rebecca Bell (1741-1809) in 1777 and later moved to Holtby, North Yorkshire. His son, Michael Sayer (1788-1866), also an Ag lab, married Mary Ellison and moved to Market Weighton, East Yorkshire. They had a number of children who moved to the Holme on Spalding Moor, and Hull areas in the 19th century. John (1807-1877) in turn married Elizabeth Jane Atkinson, and had a son, George Atkinson Sayer. His son, William Edgar Sayer (1879-1922) sailed with wife Suzanne (nee Birkbeck) (b.1883) to New York and settled nearby at Jamestown around 1907. They later separated and William (known as Edgar) died a while afterwards but nothing more is known of his wife Susie, or their two children, Louis, and Dennis Sayer.

1. Michael's father may possibly bea John Sayer of `Forest Farm'. Anyone know of a Sayer at Forest Farm?
2. Anyone know what happened to Susie Sayer and her two children in USA
3. Any other information about ANY North Yorkshire Sayers appreciated!

Has anyone knowledge of Robert Sayer - he was born approx 1797 Norwich Norfolk. His wifes name was Elizabeth and she was born approx 1808 Norwich Norfolk. I know from the 1841 - 1851 - 1861 census that they lived nmost of their married life in St Swithins Norwich and that Robert was a chimney sweep. ---- If anyone knows more about this couple particularly the wifes maiden name and whether they had any children I would be extremely grateful

I am continuing my search for Florence A Sayer born 1894 Aysgarth to Emmanuel and Sarah Sayer Also her brother Lionel P Sayer he was born in Wales. Siblings were Alexander died during WW1 and my grandfather Wilfred.
Family moved to Doncaster a, then Emmanuel died in a accident. Sarah re-married a Harry Carr and the family moved to Lincolnshire-Ulcby.
Where abouts of Florence and Lionel remain a mystery did they Marry... thought that Lionel was in the British Army and possible marriage to a lady from Scotland.
Florence no information is known it was not know there was a sister till old post cards were read.

Please any help would be appreciated I do not know where to look any more

Our Robert Thompson Dent b.1785 of Yorkshire, England may have a connection to your Mary. Have you traced her line? Is she the daughter of Mathew Dent and Mary Bowron of Romaldkirk, Yorkshire, England? Our Robert first lived in St. Valentin, Quebec with his first wife Sussana and after her death in 1817, he married Mary Covey, and he lived Delery, Rouses Point, NY, Mooers, NY, Ellenburg & Ellenburg Depot, NY.
I have studied the Cowansville line (Lionel) of Dent's but could not make a connection. They do however come from the Bowes, Romaldkirk and Bernard Castle area of Yorkshire, England. I am looking for Sayer family from St Helens and perhaps from Newburn, Northumberland before that. My gt-gt-grandfather was David Edwin Sayer and his birth was registered in 1861 in Aston district, UK. His father was Edward Moses Sayer. Edward Moses Sayer died in 1898 in Prescott district, England. Edward Moses Sayer was born around 1830 in St Helens and seems to correspond with a Moses Sayers on the IGI who was born in 1830 in St Helens. The parents to this Moses Sayers were Moses Sayers and Jane Gray. Does anyone have this family as well?

He married Jessie Scott in 1874. He died in 1882 and his obit appears in old San Francisco Call Newspaper. His younger brother Leopold came to America with him. He died in 1896 in San Francisco.The were my great uncles. I have the complete Stammbaum der Sayerischen Familie from 1590 in Vienna and 1609 in Rexingen Germany. "MRS. ANN WARD SAYER - CLEARWATER, Dec. 15. - (Special) - Mrs. Ann Ward Sayer, 70, died at a Clearwater hospital early today. She came here three and a half years ago from New York City. She resided for 35 years in Italy, and had traveled extensively. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Dwight Ward, prominent physician of New York City. Her home here was at 208 Wicker Rd., Belleair. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Yuze Tanguy, Waterbury, Conn.; a brother, Samuel Ward, Garden City, L. I., and a sister, Nina Ward, Stockbridge, Mass."

Looking for information on Joseph Sawyer born approx 1848 in "England/Canada" (probably Canada). He married Mary Agnes La Plant - her spelling (alternate Agnes Blent per birth record of George Willard) of Canada. They lived in Northborough & Southborough Mass and Montreal, Canada.

Mary Agnes was Indian (unknown tribe from Canada and unknow if full Indian or mixed ) and went to a convent school in Montreal.

They had 4 children Walter (b 11 May 1873), William (b 16 May, 1875), Ernest (b 04 September 1877) and George Willard (or Willard George) (b 06 December 1881) in Southborough, MA.

Finally unravelled some items I was going the wrong way looking for my SAYER line.
Turns out that Elizabeth Chappell was not that She was a SAYER and never married. Her son just used the name James to fill in a fathers name on a marriage certificate.!!!!
Elizabeths parents I believe are Hannah and John Sayer. Elizabeth was born in Sherston Magna Wiltshire. In 1841 she is listed as the head of the house hold. Elizabeth had 2 children Thomas and Mary jane.
Elizabeths sister Sarah was married to Elijah Chappell.
Other siblings include Thomas, Hannah,Eliza,Pheobe, Susan possibly a John, he is listed in the christening records but the last name is spelt SAIR parents names are the same. Does any one recognise this family?

I'm looking for information on a Marie Sayers who married a James Garrett Crowder, he was born:December 9, 1895, they were possibly married in the LaGrange Ga area, somewhere between 1911-1919....some of their children were Marcus "Bud" Crowder, James Levi Crowder born: Nov 18, 1919, Mary Crowder O'Kelly,"Ray" Crowder, Chester Crowder, and Lara Crowder Blue (not sure of spelling)..their could be more children, I am not for sure...some of these were born in LaGrange Ga..Including James Levi Crowder.....Marie died sometime in January 1940, don't no where she is buried, I heard she had some Indian blood in her but do not no what tribe...Contact me at SBlack2u@aol.com
