BERTHA L. SHECKELS, 67, of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday 18 August at her home. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. The Middlesboro, Kentucky native was a nurses aid for various nursing homes in Fort Wayne. Surviving are her husband, RICHARD; sons, RICHARD of Fort Wayne, ALLEN of Greenbay, Wis., and JIM of Kimmel; a daughter SHARON JOHANNSEN of Fort Wayne; a brother JAMES HATFIELD of Louisville, Kentucky; eigt Grandchildren; and one Great-Grandchild. Services are 11 a.m. Friday at CM Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells Street., where calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials are to the American Lung Association & American Heart Association. 18 August 1998.
