John Simmons (b. abt 1804) married Louisa Haskins. They had a daughter named Jane, who married William R. Brooks. They lived in the Caroline, Tompkins, NY area.

I have lots of information on the descendants of Jane and William.

I have a John Simmons (Johannes Simon) who was born Aug. 18, 1803, bpt. 1803 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Manorton, Columbia Co., NY. He may have spent most of his childhood in Greene Co. NY (Greenville & Durham). His parents are Conrad Simmons and Maria Kellerhaus.

Any idea if he was married? Spouse's name? Any Children? Perhaps this is my John Simmons, but it can't be determined with just his name.

I only have a baptismal record for him. So, I was hoping that you might have a location where he lived prior to his marriage to see if the two are the same.

I do know that his older siblings are Anna/Ann, Elizabeth, William/Wilhelm, and Geertje. They were all born in Columbia Co., NY.

"Possible" younger siblings/half siblings are Andrew and another brother, (both born in Columbia Co. NY) and Catharine and Lucinda (both born Greene Co., NY), and there is also an Albert (born in Albany Co., NY) who has some type of connection to Conrad.

Andrew is my gg grandpa.
I correspond with descendant of Catharine.

If your John and my John are the same person, he wasn't living with his parents in 1820 (Greenville, Greene Co. NY census).

An 1855 census would show which county your John was born in.
