Has anyone got prove that James is the son of Richard and Mary spruce b abt 1796. There are so many Spruces' with all the same name I'm pulling my hair out. Any firm prove will be gratefully received.

his daughter-Mary-dob 8-26-1867, baptized 9-4-1867. address Nelson St.Liverpool. she married Charles Henry Heap.

she had a younger sister, Elizabeth who died at age 18. possibly an older brother, Joseph, baptized 4-14-1861 at St. Peter's Church Church st, Liverpool Eng. Mary (dau) was also baptized and married at this church.

I am trying to find any information on WR Spruce-married to Mary Lewis children-"Milson" Margaret-Joseph (from 1850 Conway, Ark census) William was the Brother to my GGG Grandmother-Melinda Spruce Bridges Wilson
Anything-his parents-what happen to WR and Mary-their children-his Sister-Nancy married to Alex Nichols-the parents of Mary is it Joseph Lewis that was living "next" door to them in 1850?
Is there any connection between this Lewis family and Amos Lewis married to Agnes Wilson?
I have more questions than answers and it sure would help to have someone give me a "guiding hand"

Mary Lue Spruce

Mary Lue Spruce was born in Mississippi in 1843. She was the daughter of Simpson and ____Spruce. The only notice of a Spruce family is in the 1860 DeSoto Country census. "J.A. Spruce 23M, Simpson Spruce 65M, Mary Spruce 17F and S.F. Spruce 14F" There are no other Spruces in Mississippi or Louisiana in 1860.

Records show that they moved from Alabama to Mississippi and then to Tennessee. They later headed to Jonesboro, Ark before moving south to Lake Ouachita in north Louisiana.

Records I have show Virgil "Virgie as he was called" being born near the town of Homer in 1854. He would later marry Rebecca Conner. He was a successful sheep farmer but they had no children that I can find.

Stories I've heard say the Spruce's owned a small farm with a few slaves which they freed around 1863. Mary would later marry Robert English in the 1860s. They had a girl (named Gertrude) about 1864 that died shortly after birth. They then had a son named Robert E. English in 1865.

I've been to Homer, LA and there are lots of black English families there. I talked to one older black lady who told me her family had once been owned by some English's "round these parts".

Robert (Sr) would die in 1878 and Mary would later marry William "Lit" Donaghe.

Any additional information would be great appreciated.

Looking for tie up for my great grandfather Thomas (Tom) H. Spruce born abt 1821 in either North Carolina or South Carolina (depending on which census you look at). Married 1841 in Cobb County, Georgia to Luvicey Shuptrine and later to Annie M. Storey (died 29 Jan 1920) in Oklahoma. I believe Thomas died somewhere between 1881-1885 as Annie remarried in 1885 in Texas. Thomas is father of George Henry and Emmet Spruce of Texas. Am I related to anyone out there?

I'm looking for info on Homer Virgil Spruce who died in Texas and was married to a Rebecca Connor. My Great Great Grandfather was Albert Charles Connor , brother of Rebecca Connor. Albert was married to Ada Alsup in 1890 and died in 1910. They had three children one which was my great grandmother. But the main thing i'm trying to find out is the name of Rebecca Conner Parents. This is my great grandmother who was born in 1855 in Ireland but was Scotch. She emigrated to Canada in 1862 and married William Robert Johnson (Johnston). It would appear to be his second marriage. Jane died between 1901 and 1906 in Manitoba. Desperately seeking information about Jane, her heritage, and her descendancy.

Mrs. Mamie STRUTMAN, wife of W. H. STRUTMAN, a city
fireman, died yesterday at her home, 1300 Brooklyn Avenue.
She was 26 years old and had lived in Kansas City five years,
coming here from Lexington, Mo. The body will be taken to
Lexington this morning. A sister, Mrs. Martha MYERS;
father, Mat SPRUCE, and a grandmother, Mrs. Sarah SPRUCE,
all of Lexington, Mo., survive.

I am looking for descendants of Elias Spruce & Elizabeth Sims or Matthew Spruce & Mary Sims. Elizabeth and Mary were sisters and my first cousins, four times removed. Their father, James William Sims, was the brother of my third great-grandmother, Sarah Jane Sims. This is the information I have so far on both Elizabeth and Mary's families:

Elizabeth "Lizzie" Sims, 1868 - 9/1903, married Elias Spruce, 3/1865 - 12/1940, on April 1887 in Lexington, Lafayette County, MO. Elias was the son of Samuel Spruce, 7/1827 - 11/1907, and Emma Walton, born unknown - 12/13/1877.

Elizabeth and Elias had the following children:
1) Mollie married ? Schwab
2) Bess
3) Charlotte
4) Emma
5) Margaret
6) Anna
7) Bud
8) Helen

Mary Sims, born about 1870 & died between 4/1892 and 6/1/1900, married Matthew Spruce, 6/1866 - aft. 4/22/1910, on June 28, 1889 in Lafayette County, MO. Matthew was the son of Seth Spruce, born 5/1839 and died between 6/1/1900 and 4/21/1910, and Sarah Wilkinson, 5/1843 - aft. 4/22/1910.

Mary and Matthew had the following children:
1) Mamie, 8/1890 - aft. 4/22/1910
2) Martha, 4/1892 - aft. 4/22/1910

The info about Samuel down to now is more than I knew for sure. Rumer as far as Vic knew was that Charlie was Welsh. I have another Robert Victoria Spruce. He is 11 years old, almost 12. My daughter insisted on naming him after Vic. I also have a son. He has two children also.
Where do you live at this time? My brother still lives in Lexington. I am living in Washington state and have for 34 years.

Joseph O. SPRUCE (born about 1830) enlisted in Spalding County, GA on April 28, 1862 in A Company 53rd Inf Reg GA. He died of disease about 15 July 1863 in Winchester, VA. Joseph may have enlisted with his younger brother, as there is a Marcus Daniel SPRUCE, born 3 August 1837 in Spalding County, GA, that enlisted on April 28, 1862 in the same unit as well. Marcus Daniel SPRUCE was captured Burkeville, VA on December 6, 1865 and released at Lookout, MD on June 19, 1865. I am searching for these two families, ancestors and descendants. Thank you.
