OLD STORM BOOK FOUND!

I recently discovered an old book given to my dad from his grandfather that belonged to Andrew Humphreys Storm, son to William Washington Storm. Washington Storm's father was Revolutionary War Veteran John Storm. I am related through my great-grandfather, Robert Elmer McCrary, whom is still alive. His mother was Lelia Storm. She was Andrew's brother and Washington's daughter. Andrew's book contains messages that he wrote as well as many of his friends and family members. Many of the messages reffer to death in some way giving a hint that Andrew was dying at the time. This is true in fact because Andrew died in 1889 and all the messages in the book are from 1888 and 1889 in Rock Hill or Stormville, Texas. Does anyone have any information regarding this family or more specifically Andrew and his cause of death? I have much information regarding on how the Storm Family came to Texas from Indiana and where they lived, are buried, their house, etc. Much of this information was relayed from Lelia to my great grandfather who is still alive. If anyone would like to trade information or see pictures of the old book (I have them scanned into my computer) please contact me.

Hi Austin:

Dirck Storm came to the US from the Netherlands in the 1600's. I believe he first settled in Long Island, then Haarlem, then Tarrytown.

Is your Storm family Dutch or German?

Regards,

Jeanne

My Storm line is from Germany - I do not think it is related to the Dirck that you are asking about. Sorry.

Sorry, but I think that is a different Storm/Storms line than mine. Mine came from Germany with the original name being Sturm. It was later changed in the 1720's when they came to America. Just in case though do you know any additional information? Like George's parents' or wife's name?
~ Austin.

Hi MHunter?
I am in the line of Isaac D Storm. My father and grandfather were from the Lee, Rome, NY area, and our family still lives in the area. If you will go to the Makensies Homepage you will find all the info on the Netherland Storm/Storm family. "Old Dirck' Book" written by Dirck Storm , who came to NY in 1660's , is the Dutch Storm line and we are all decended from his line. He goes way back to Dederick Storm 1390. Before that I guess they possibly came to the area with the Vikings. The area they settled in was settled by the Vikings, after it was captured by them. The old book you have, Is it written by John G. Storm? I know some one who is looking for one. Its about the Storms family. Get back to me if you would like. Also if you go to the Sleepy Hollow Central page, you'll be able to see more on the Storm family. I am down as a researcher for the Storm surname for this line from Holland.
