Ohio Storm/Storms

I have finally found some information on my grandmothers family.
She was Lizzie (Elizabeth) Storm, daughter of Allen B Storm and mother was Florence B Long. she was born 24 June 1892, died 3 July 1925.
Allen B Storm was born 4 June 1858 to William H Storm and Charlotte Smith, died 17 March 1901. Florence B Long was born 18 Nov 1861 to Henry Long and Elizabeth Krister (?) and died 4 Sept 1914
William H Storm died on 30 July 1897 at age 73 and Charlotte died 13 May 1911. Charlottes' parents are unknown and she was possibly born 2 June 1836 in Maysville, Kentucky.
The 1880 census shows William and parents born in Ohio and Charlotte born KY and parents England.

Does anyone have more information on this family?
Thanks

Detective Chief Walter STorm

Stars and Stripes newspaper, the WWII Europe Edition
Monday 21st of June 1948.
Holdup Wave Hits Chicago: Chief of Detectives Walter Storm was ordered today to put every availabvle detective in the street to check a wave of daylight holdups and window smashings which has arisen here.
The order to "clean up those robberies or else" came from Police Commissioner John Prendergast after robbers cleaned up abut $27,000 in three holdups Friday. Early ysterday men in an automobile smashed 15 display windows in a number of stores and escaped after shots were fired by a squad car.
I am not researching this family. Hope this old newspaper article can help someone else who is.

I am looking for Joseph Storms who lived in Rome, New York when he was a baby and toddler. His mother was Virginia Storms, whos mother and father were Marie and Lawrence. He was born in the early 50's. My mother Evelyn watched him for a while. My brother Wayne was about the same age. I remember the two boys playing in the playpen. We have always wondered where Joey and Ginnie went to when they left the area. I had heard they went to Syracuse or Utica, NY, but thats all we know. His mom and I are 1st cousins. My dad Harold was Lawrence's brother.
Sincerely,
Pat

I recently came accross another person researching Flora Storm on a Webpage called "Assorted Storms." She seemed to know of the connection between Flora and John Raglin-Flora married John in 1824 in Gallatin Missouri. However, her e-mail address did not work. Does anyone know of a Storm family connected to Flora? She was born in Virginia in 1804. John Raglin also born in Virginia, 1800. Cannot find anything on either of them--father, mother, siblings,etc.--prior to 1800. (John and Flora are my gggggrandparents). Help greatly appreciated.

Parents Of John Storm(Sturm )

Any information would be appreciated.I am trying to find the parents of my gr.gr.gr.grandfather John Storm. Could it be Coonrad(Conrad)Sturm?Could his father be Jacob or Isaac or Peter or Abram? John was born Jan.4 1777 at Crab Orchard Ky.(now W.Va.) Supposedly his mother died when he was quite young and his father remarried.John didn't care for his new stepmother and ran away.He might have been in Carter Co. Tenn. for awhile but we don't actually hear of him again until he marries. He married Elizabeth Slonaker in 1803 in Westmoreland,Pa.where they had their first 7 children. The next 6 children were born in Coshocton,Ohio. Betsy died Aug. 12,1853 and John died May 14.1863. They are both buried in Burkhardt Cemetery in Coshocton,Ohoi. One of their sons(my gr.gr.grandfather)George Jurg, moved to Martz,Indiana with his wife Barbara Miller. One of their sons Ananias(my gr.grandfather)rode on horseback witha brother in law,a Cooprider,to plot out the town of Clay City,Indiana. Ananias and his wife Caroline Siegle had four children...Clara,Pearl,Howard and my grandmother Bessie Leona.Bessie Leona married William Rex Holland from Chicago. They had one child...my mother..Caroline. If anyone knows anything of this Storm family I would be very happy to hear from you.

OLD STORM BOOK FOUND!

I recently discovered an old book given to my dad from his grandfather that belonged to Andrew Humphreys Storm, son to William Washington Storm. Washington Storm's father was Revolutionary War Veteran John Storm. I am related through my great-grandfather, Robert Elmer McCrary, whom is still alive. His mother was Lelia Storm. She was Andrew's brother and Washington's daughter. Andrew's book contains messages that he wrote as well as many of his friends and family members. Many of the messages reffer to death in some way giving a hint that Andrew was dying at the time. This is true in fact because Andrew died in 1889 and all the messages in the book are from 1888 and 1889 in Rock Hill or Stormville, Texas. Does anyone have any information regarding this family or more specifically Andrew and his cause of death? I have much information regarding on how the Storm Family came to Texas from Indiana and where they lived, are buried, their house, etc. Much of this information was relayed from Lelia to my great grandfather who is still alive. If anyone would like to trade information or see pictures of the old book (I have them scanned into my computer) please contact me.
~Austin Smith

I need help on my immediate Storm family.

I am an adoptee who just found my birthmother. We haven't talked yet but I have the start of my family tree. I knew I was a Storm but now I have the names of my gparents and more. Does anyone have info on my grandparents Carson W. Storm 1917-1995 (Ok.) and his wife Irene Storm (King, living still)? Carsons parents were Thomas Jefferson Storm 1877-1951 (b. in Ar. and d. in Ok.) he was married to Lora Mabel Storm, and yes that is her surname and married name. Thomas Storms parents (my ggparents) are PETER STORM(S) 1846-? b. in Mo. he was married to Samantha Madeline Cummings b. 1847 in Ky. Lora Mabel Storm was born to Thomas Wesley Storm b. 1855 in Mo. and Georgia Ann Frazier b. 1857 in Mo.

I know some of these names due to past year of experience searching Storm however don't have much more that this. I don't know how eager my birth mother is to talk to me and that is okay however I would love any information about my family that I can get. I love hearing about my history. Thanks so much, feel free to email me at Holly.Huston@sbcglobal.net

Peter Storm / Sturm - French & Indian War??? Father to John and Jacob Storm (Rev. War Vet.'s)

Does anyone know if Peter Storm, father of John Storm (revolutionary war veteran), was ever involved in the French and Indian War? I ask this because I found a very interesting reference to Peter Storm in a book titled
"Virginia Colonial Soldiers" by Lloyd DeWitt Bockstruck.
In a listing headed: "Captain Robert McKenzie's Company 13th July 1756", a military roll says that Peter Storam enlisted Fredrick, Maryland born PA age 16 height 5'3" brown, straight dark hair, speaks Dutch and broken English. Dutch was probably German as Germany is where his parents came from. The German word for the language German is Deutsch which proabably sounded like Dutch to the enlisting officer. Peter Storm was born in Pennsylvania and was at the age of 16 in 1756. He was also living in Fredrick, MD when this says he enlisted. It seems to all fit together to me, but I haven't found anyone else that can confirm that he was in the French and Indian War. If anyone has any information on this I would greatly appreciate it. Also his marriage to Anna Barbara Fickes (his first wife) would have taken place during his involement in this war, how would this be possible? Also does anyone know what Peter Storm's involvement was in the Revolutionary War? If he was militia or a continental soldier like his sons? I know that his second wife (does anyone know her name) applied for Peter's Revolutionary War pension in 1849. Jacob Storm, brother to John and son to Peter, also stated that he, his brother, and father were in the Revolutionary War in a writing of his. I have more information on this if anyone is interested.
~Austin Smith

(70) and Tonia (60) Storm. In the SSDI, Leota Ulmer is shown as DOB 24 Jan 1902, and she died in Stewardson (Shelby Co.).
Obit - Louis Merrill Storm - Arizona

Lou was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 10, 1927.

A graduate of Dorsey High School in LA, CA he joined the US Marine Corp. in 1944, serving most of his enlistment on the USS Missouri with the military police. Following his Marine service, Lou briefly pitched for the Chicago Cubs farm team (similar to an AAA team now) until an injury ended his baseball career. During those years he also attended and earned a degree from UCLA.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Virginia, sons Hugh Hoard, Dr. Richard Hoard, Darryl Storm; daughter Diana Hoard-Cunningham; grandchildren Denah Hoard, Tedra Best, Taylor Cunningham, Bailey Cunningham, Justin Storm, Jessica Storm, Troy Storm and Great Grandchild Shane Yoshiyama.

Published in The Arizona Republic on 4/16/2005.

Bessie, Raymond or Jimmy Lee Storm

My distant cousin was Bessie M. (Free) Storm who married Raymond Storm. They adopted a son whose name was Jimmy Lee Storm. Jimmy died in a car wreck under questionable circumstances in Montgomery, Alabama, at the age of 22. His wife at the time was Lyndia (Linda). They had a daughter who went by the name Bonnie, although Jimmy's obituary said her name was Catherine. Raymond died in 1971 and Bessie died in 1991 according to their cemetery marked. Bessie had been taken to live with Bonnie in Louisiana and all of Bessie's family was told that she would never be brought back to Montgomery and that she would be cremated when she died. According to the cemetery, there is no body in her plot next to Raymond and that her "daughter-in-law" Lyndia (Linda) Gray had given them the information for her death to be engraved on the marker. If anyone knows anything about this family, please email me.

Heinrich Storm, sea captain

My grandfather's grandfather was Heinrich Storm, born 1841 in Mershendorf, Mühle, Gesborbun, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany (or so we recorded it), and died 1906 in Hamburg. I'm looking for his ancestors, or any other relatives.

He had three siblings that may have migrated to Oregon (one of whom he may have later visited, somewhere in America). He was a ship captain, and may have taken people to Australia. He married Marguerrite Gangloff of Le Havre France, sometime around 1882. His son Theodor (b.1897, d.1974) settled in Santiago or Valparaiso, Chile, marrying Rosa Maria Reyes, with a son Teo, as well.

Heinrich was supposedly a nephew of the poet, (Hans) Theodor Woldsen Storm. His son was named for him. But I haven't found anything definite yet. I'd appreciate talking to any descendants of the poet, too.

In fact, any help would be greatly appreciated at this stage.

Thanks,
Barry Gates
arkaig1 at aol.com
