FRED SYMONS Bio - pg 455
Fred, son of Wm and Martha SYMONS, was born in Manilla Township in 1903 and died 1957.
He lived and farmed in that area all his life and operated a bulk oil business for a few years in Easby.
In 1939 he married Mae McLean, daughter of Hector and Amy McLean who was born in Antler, ND. She had a brother, Robert McLean. With their parents they moved in 1920 to Easby where their father operated a grain elevator until he retired around 1940.
When Harry Learned retired as PostMaster at Easby in 1951, Mae became PostMaster and held that position until the post office closed. After Fred's death she spent a year or two in church work in Chicago and Fargo after which she returned to the Langdon area where she lived until her death in 1983. --recorded 1/85
