Langdon ND Centennial Edition 1888-1988

FRED SYMONS Bio - pg 455

Fred, son of Wm and Martha Symons, was born in Manilla Township in 1903 and died 1957.

He lived and farmed in that area all his life and operated a bulk oil business for a few years in Easby.

In 1939 he married Mae McLean, daughter of Hector and Amy McLean who was born in Antler, ND. She had a brother, Robert Mclean. With their parents they moved in 1920 to Easby where their father operated a grain elevator until he retired around 1940.

When Harry Learned retired as PostMaster at Easby in 1951, Mae became PostMaster and held that position until the post office closed.
Charles Symon (Isobel Smith) Angus & Perthshire

Hi
We have now managed to confirm that our Charles Symon was born (illegt) in 1797 in Kirriemuir to Charles Symon and Isobel Smith.

Charles and Isobel don't appear to have married and we can find no other children.

The descended family seemed to move about a bit in Angus and east Perthshire (Longforgan, Errol, Liff)

If anyone can shed any light on either or both or these parents (Charles senior could have been born anywhere in Angus or Perthshire c1770s?), or has a Symon/s (Simons etc) anywhere in Angus or Perthshire that might be connected we would be happy to hear from you.

Charles (b1797 Kirriemuir, d1876 Redgorton, Perthshire) & Margaret Duncan (d1867 Liff&Benvie, Dundee) had Charles (married Catherine Mitchell), James (married Ann Lowden) and Margaret (married John Geddes Smith).

Thanks
Lesley
