Talbots of Kingsbury and Langport areas

I am researching my Talbot line who I believe came from Kingsbury Episcopi, Somerset England. The furtherest I can go back is to a John Talbot, wife unknown.
known children: John, Benjamin, Elizabeth,
Emmanuel, George, Silas who married a Sarah. All born in 1820s, 1830s.
Silas and Sarah had four known sons who came to S.A. being James, John, William and Henry.
John, Benjamin and George came to South Australia. Emmanuel was best man at Benjamin's wedding in 1852 in St. Martins Church, Kingsbury, Somerset.
A Sylvia Dorothy Talbot still lived in Kingsbury Episcopi during World War 1 years. We have a photo of her. Other girl descendants could be Kate Satherley etc.

Any information on this family would be appreciated.

De Moville Talbot in Asotin County WA

Reviewing Asotin County WA Atlas for 1914, for my other's family, I was very surprised to find a name from my father's side of the family -- from the late 1700s! A De Moville Talbot owned land in Asotin County WA; a nearby neighbor was H. C. Talbott. A Demoville (variously spelled) Talbot(t) in Fairfax Co VA married into the family of my oldest known Williams ancestor, George Williams (?-1794), from whom they inherited land in Bourbon Co VA, and moved there.

Talbotts's mother/s name was DeMourville -- I was surprised to see what is clearly a family name show up roughhly a centrury and a half later on the other side of the country. Does anyone have data on this De Moville Talbot in Asotin Co WA?

Especially interested in William Bryant Talbot who I can't find any record of after 1860. My Great Grandfather Thomas Talbot married Fanny Bryant. Thomas was born in 1817 in Broadwey. They had two sons George Talbot b 1843 which is my direct line and Willam Bryant b 1850 who I can't trace. Any information would be welcome.

Dick Asiel Talbot 1942 ~ 2008 On Sunday, February 24, 2008, Dick Asiel Talbot, surrounded by his loving wife and all of his children, peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father. He was 65 and had suffered years of pain from complications of leukemia. His family is comforted by the knowledge that he suffers no longer. Dick was born on March 9, 1942 in Oak City, Utah. He was the seventh of nine children born to Lee and Velma Talbot. Dick graduated from Delta High School where he enjoyed playing sports. Shortly after returning from an L.D.S. mission to the Eastern States, he met Marie Anderson while working in Almo, Nevada. They were sealed in the St. George Temple 81 days later, and have been married for 44 years. Together, Dick and Marie had five children, 27 1/2 grandchildren, and one great-grandson. They served six LDS missions together. Dick did wonders with wood and has left behind his love for his family and friends in many of the things he made for them. He was a handyman in many ways and always kept his families' homes and hearts lovingly patched together. Hunting and fishing held much joy for him, but these activities were always enhanced when coupled with family. He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Talbot; mother, Velma Bunker Talbot; sister, Bonita Talbot Law; and one grandson. He is survived by his wife, Maria Anderson Talbot of Springville, Utah, and children LeAnn (Ron) Andrews of Spanish Fork, Utah; J. D. (Jamie) Talbot of Mesquite, Nevada; Layne (Rosella) Talbot of South Jordan, Utah; LynNae (Martin) Pena of Cedar City, Utah; and Stanley (Presha) Talbot of Cedar City, Utah. For those who wish to pay their respects, a viewing will be held on Friday, February 29, 2008 at the Wheeler Mortuary (211 East 200 South) in Springville, Utah from 6-8 p.m. A funeral and celebration of his life will follow on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the L.D.S. Chapel at 840 South 400 East in Springville, Utah at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing from 9:30 to 10:45 prior to the service. Dick will be laid to rest in the Sutherland, Utah cemetery at 3 p.m. Condolences may be sent at www.wheelermortuary.com
Published in the Salt Lake Tribune on 2/27/2008.
Talbot family --Ireland & U.S.

I am searching for any information on this Talbot Family. I was always told that they are from the county of Cork in Ire. (From bible records)-- Elias Talbot married Harriet Burgess in Finnue, Ireland on 2 April, 1861. They are the parents of Mary Ellen Talbot b. 22 May 1862 (Cloneao?); Sara Talbot b. 8 August 1863; Margaret Talbot b.19 Jan. 1865, Kate Francis Talbot b.16 July 1866; James Talbot b.18 April 1868; Pheobe Jane Talbot b.3Feb. 1869(came to U.S. also married George Golding); Lydia Talbot b. 25April 1872; Abraham William Talbot(also known as William) b.25 May 1873; Elias Talbot b.26March 1876 --d.3 Oct. 1887. Some of these children came to America, and some did not. I have also an old 1890s/1900s picture of william (abraham william?) which says on back written by my grandfather, "Uncle William fr. Roscrae, Tipperary, Ireland. Died at West Point. Ma. In the country only a short time. I saw the home in Tipperary. Grandfather was Lord Talbot but Uncle Willie youngest son hence no title."----according to the bible records, william was not the youngest until after Elias Talbot died in 1887 (so I am not sure what that comment meant except that it was written after 1900s)----------If anyone has any information that could help me with my search I will be grateful. Thanks, joy

My grandfather was William Talbot. He was the son of Elizabeth Mcsweeny and a Talbot( I don't know the first name).
Elizabeth Mcsweeny was the daughter of Mona Mcsweeny and Young(Again I don't know the first name.) Elizabeth Mcsweeny was born in County Cork Ireland. My grandfather married Marguerite Lentz from Luxembourg. They lived in Wilbraham Mass. where my mother was born along with an older brother and a younger sister.
I would really like to expand my family tree on either sides.

My great great grandfather, born in Belton, Leics between 1839 and 1843 (ref death cert and census returns 1871 onwards).
I can find no trace of him before his marriage to Martha Ashmall in 1868. As far as I can determine, there were no Talbots in Belton around this time.
All I've found so far is the baptism of a William Jervis on Dec 11th 1842, mother Elizabeth Hickling (no father recorded).
I'd be very grateful for any information.

I'm looking for the family of James Talbot, who was a blacksmith in Somerset England in the early 1800s. He married Ann Vallis, daughter of Richard and Mary Vallis of Shepton Montague Somerset. In the early 1800s Ann and her Talbot family lived in such places as Wells and Bruton Somerset. I think James and Ann were born between 1790 and 1800 and probably married after 1810. In a letter written in 1818 they were living in Hinton Somerset and in a an 1821 letter they were living in Wells Somerset. It is believed Ann died before 1853.

I am searching for my beginning. From what I have heard in family conversations is our family originally came from Grey County, Ontario, Canada, when I don't know. My father's name was David Talbot. My grandmother was Mary Talbot. I do not know my grandmothers maiden name. My father originally came from Duluth, Minnesota. As far as I know I have an uncle Roger, Donald, Reggie, Aunts Edna and Muriel, and an uncle Tim (who died on the Indiannapolis during world war two. I very much would like some help, if anyone could help me, to trace my linneage back as far as I can. I now have grandchildren and I don't have the faintest idea of telling them where we came from originally.

Thank you
David J. Talbot

Would anyone have any information on a George Talbott, a native of England, who sailed out of Liverpool on the "Middlesex", arriving in NY on 11 Nov 1856? He was 20 yrs old at the time, w/ an estimated yr of birth being 1836.

I have been trying to research my gggrandfather, George Talbot, who came to the US from somewhere in England sometime before the outbreak of the Civil War. He eventually settled in Fremont, Sandusky Co, Ohio, where he died 18 Nov 1872. He is buried at Dana (formerly Green Creek) Cemetary, near Green Springs, Sandusky Co, Ohio.

We do not know where he was born, other than Engand; do not know his parents' names; do not know his DOB; etc. He married Martha Vining of Castalia OH, & they had 3 children, Charles Henry, George W, & Sophia (Shepard). I am a descendant of George W, & have a distant relative who is a descendant of Charles Henry, who is also desperately seeking info on George from England.

If you have *any* info, please email me at ktnil@woh.rr.com.

My mother, Grace Oliver, had a boyfriend named Billy Talbot. They went together all through high school and even when Billy went to Syracuse University in NY State. They and their families lived in New Berlin, Chenango County, NY. Mom was born in 1912 so the time frame for their teenage romance was probably mid to late 1920s to early 1930s.
My reason for writing is I have some wonderful original pictures of Billy, some professionally taken. I also have the celluloid velvet lined box that his Syracuse University ring came in. I would love to find a direct family descendant to give these things to. Both went on to marry other people but they had a sweet teenage romance.
Elaine Decker

While adding new photos to my album I decided that someone may have these people in their family so would like to offer any photo of the tombstones that you would like for your record. I know I have traveled throughout US and England trying to find the graves of my family. If you are interested please let me know I will scan the photo or mail it to you.

I have a George Fredrick Charles Talbot, eldest son of George and Ada Talbot of Southampton England.
I am researching the descendants of Zebedee Dunbar Talbot (of African descent), born in 1803 in USA, possibly New England (MA, or VT or ME according to various Canadian censuses) and who emigrated to Canada West (Ontario) around 1830, with wife, Sylvia (possibly nee Walker) (1811), and son, Lorenzo (1828). If Zebedee was an escaped slave, census data re: New England may be a red herring.

I am searching for a veteran of WWII, Glenn Talbot, who served in the 561st Field Artillery Battalion. He would have been born between 1906 and 1925. I've checked the World War II Memorial Registry, and gathered all the data I can from the Social Security Death Index and the 1930 Census. Unfortunately, both the SSDI and 1930 Census do not give me anything on military service for WWII.

I am posting messages to hopefully get some info directly from veterans or their family. I will be pursuing getting data from the Army Records Center in St. Louis. Maybe the combination of sources will work for me.

The 561st FA Bn has an informal association, and an annual reunion; thus this work to find WWII veterans of the unit.
DNA project for Males with surname /Talbot

I trace my Talbot line to London, England and perhaps Yorkshire or Warwickshire. I am looking for males with the Talbot surname willing to participate in a DNA study to establish shared ancestry. I have the DNA markers for several of my Talbot relatives which have also been posted on www.smgf.org. SMGF has a worldwide project to build a DNA linked pedigree database which anyone can access for free.

My Talbot line is through my mother who's grandfather was born in London, England around 1813 and emigrated with his father and mother to South Africa. He left South Africa around 1856 and moved to the United States. We are trying to find his father and mother's ancestry.

Privacy is protected as SMGF does not release the names of anyone born less than 100 years ago. They cover the entire cost of the DNA sequencing and post the linked pedigree on their wesite as a way to help people establish ancestry. If any are interested in participating email me and I can supply more information. While participation is free it does require a simple mouthwash sample and a pedigree of at least 4 to 6 generations to list in the database. SMGF pays the entire cost so it is a great way to see where your line ties in to others.
