I am trying to locate my GrGr Grandfather's parents and as you all know, Tompkins are VERY hard to follow. The "furthest" information back in time that I could help you with would be that on an 1870 census - the first election district of the 16th ward (2nd enum) New York, New York is my Daniel D who is married to Jane E Hinman. I am not able to go back to an earlier generation as I have no idea who his parents are and my older ancestors are not living to be able to help me out. "Supposedly" we are direct descendants of one of the VP's (Daniel D) sons. Please if anyone can help or direct me, I would be quite greatful. Thanks, Carolyn
