Hello,

I am seeking information on Barbara Raydelle Toole b: Sep 1890 d: 29 May 1963; she was married to Jay Everette Wheeler Stead aka Edward J Stead aka Frank Stead. It is also believed that she was also married to a man named Peachman/Peachtree and a man by the name of Silveston.

They had 4 children, Betty Jane; Dorothy; Fern and Fred J Stead. I have found death information for all of the children except Betty Jane who might still be alive, she was born in 1916.

In anycase they lived in Belmont County, Ohio.

I am seeking information of the marriage or Barbara and Jay, when they might have been married and by whom. I am helping my 4th cousin 2x removed try to locate information, as Jay Everette Wheeler Stead was her father too, the above children listed would be her half-siblings.

If anyone has any information on this family, please get in touch with me.

Thank you,

Teresa

Looking for any Toole with roots in the Newport area of Co. Mayo, Ireland (Burrishoole and neighboring parishes.)
1788-79 Sir Neal O'Donel Estate Records show 3 Tooles: Darby, Gellens (both in Lecarrow) and Lackey.
1832 Tithes: Darby again in the townland of Lecarrow; and Lackey in Barrickhill. Other 1832 Tooles: In Innishkeele, John, Pat, Thomas. In Derryhillaugh, Thomas. In Roskeen, Austin (married Anne Toole 27 Jun 1825, Clare Island), Michael (married Mary Toole 16 Nov 1825, Clare Island).
Michael Toole, Mary Lacey, Martin Toole

Michael Toole, born Ireland about 1851married Mary Lacey b.? about 1853, in Gateshead, England. Their 7th son Martin was born in USA (Place not known) about 1889. Their 6th son Joseph was born in Gateshead in 1887 and the whole family appeared in 1891 UK Census in Gateshead. Therefore Mary had to be in USA to give birth to Martin perhaps having Michael and some or all of the family with them. Perhaps they went to be with a member of the Toole family or perhaps the Lacey's. Is anyone connected? Can anyone help? My email address is megabeans15@dodo.com .au yes we live in Australia on the Gold Coast in Queensland.

Toole Family of Duval Co, Jacksonville Forida

I am trying to find any info on particular Toole family lived in Jacksonville Fl (Duval co). I believe it may have been on "Day Ave" in the Murray Hill area, but have been unable to confirm. Son of this family was named "Ottis Elwood Toole" and his sister was named "Drusilla", later being married & becoming Drusilla Powell Carr. Ms Powell had a daughter "Frieda" (who went by Becky) Drusilla Toole Powell Carr also had a son, Frank Powell Jr. I have been unable to locate him. He survived through 1983 but seemed to drop from sight in the mid 1980's.

The mother of Ottis Toole may have been named "sarah Harlan" but I have been unable to confirm this too.

Any info at all would be very much appreciated.

My great grandfather was born John Joseph Toole, Sr. in Dublin on 2 Feb 1865. He married Hannah MORRISSEY in Chicago in 1886.

His father’s name was John and his mother's was Catherine WILLIAMS. He was born at 3 Albert Court in Dublin. There is a Mary living at 5 Albert Court in the 1850 Dublin Directory. There is a possibility that Catherine went home to have her baby.

John Joseph and Hannah had eight children in Chicago. When he came to the US, he put back the O’ on to Toole. I am told they took off the O’ because it denoted as being of Catholic origin and to get work, one had to appear Protestant. The eight O'TOOLE kids are - 5 boys and 3 girls: John Joseph, Jr, Loretto Marea, Edwin Columbus (grandpa), Harold Kenry (Hal), Francis (France), Lawrence (Lol), Hannah Marie, and Mary Margaret.

The history of the MORRISSEY clan goes all the way back to1773 and some French Canadian (or Basque fisherman depending on whose history you listen to) 4 x great grandfather named Louis MOVELLE. He married Elizabeth TERRICK, a lady from Wales. The problem is I cannot find anything about them. In addition, I sent away for John Joseph Sr.'s parents' marriage certificate, but received the wrong one. Additionally, I cannot find where or when they came in to the US.

I am looking for A connection to the Tooles.

John Toole, 1834 - Cork, Ireland > Livingston, New York > Genesee, Michigan

Looking for information about John Toole, born 1834 in County Cork, Ireland and arrived in US between 1840-1850. No information on this line prior to 1860, including point of entry in North America (though New York, New England or Canada seem most likely). Appears in 1860 Census for Groveland, Livingston County, New York with wife Mary and daughters Margaret, Ellen and Mary. Settled in Mount Morris, Genesee, Michigan in 1870. Possible relations in Shiawasee or Washentaw Counties around that time, though this is unconfirmed. Wife, Mary, born 1833 in Ireland, maiden name Manion or Madigan. Daughter Elizabeth Toole married Patrick Murphy of Canada (and later Mount Morris, Michigan). Son David John O'Toole (my g-grandfather) married Glennie Mills of Thetford, Michigan. Eldest son, James M. Toole, married Minerva "Minnie" Mills, also of Thetford (Glennie's aunt). James and Minnie relocated to Washington state sometime around 1900. I have much more on this family, but can't seem to get past John and Mary. Please help - I'm really stuck, here. Thanks.

Hi. Are there any TOOL/TOOLE descendants out there with multiple sclerosis? My grandfather died of MS. He had 3 children.......2 boys and 1 girl. The daughter, D.M. had a daughter with MS. that first showed signs when she was a young teenager. The son C.W. had one daughter(so far) out of 6 with MS. He also has two sons who so far have no sign of the disease. Another of C.W.'s daughters had a girl that developed MS at the age of 16. So far it seems to have skipped a generation and then showed up again.

Just curious to know if there are others in this family with any signs of it.

Margaret

I am reposting this query from a few years ago. I never. I have never found this ancestor before 1735. My ISP went out of business and I had to get another e-amil address.
Looking for any references to TOOLE before 1735 in North Carolina or Virginia or other points north or across the water to the British Isles. Need parentage and origins for Edward Toole who appears in Bertie Precinct of Chowan County, North Carolina, by 1735. Estimate Edward Toole was born at least by about 1715 and died with a will in Bertie Precinct/County in 1772. Did he come south from Virginia or did he walk off a ship on to somebody's wharf on the Roanoke River???
His will and surviving estate papers name his children some of which migrated to Orangeburg District, South Carolina, by 1778. At least one migrated into Georgia and then to Alabama.
Vivian Toole Cates, Rt. #2 Box 52-A, Alto, Texas 75925
1-936-858-3801
vtoole@inu.net http://www.inu.net/vcates

In John W. Wilkinson's obituary, he said his father Samuel F. was of English descent and that his father George was raised by a Lord Palmore--hence his coming to America for a new start. One of the librarians told me that he was probably referring to a Lord Palmer and that it often meant he was an illegitimate son. But George apparently arrived alone and unmarried, settling first in Fauquier Co. VA. This obit. was in the Kentucky History of the State by Perrin, Battle and Kniffin, pulished in Louisville 1887 in the section called "Biographical Sketches." Page 1068. My records say that John's middle initial is G. for George. He lived in Boonville, IN near where I grew up.

I am currently researching information for my husbands family tree. According to his grandmother she states her family has the Toole, Simpson, Williamson and Napier surnames. She is wanting information on the Toole/Williamson side. According to the 1880 Census, Andrew Toole married Mariah, they had several children, one of which was named Charity. Records show she married an Oliver Williamson. They had children and their son Carl Williamson married a Maggie Napier/Simpson, who died a month after complications to a pregnancy according to my husbands grandmother. She was raised by Charity Williamson for some time. She would like some information from both the Williamson, Napier and Simpson side.

Any assistance would be great,

Thomasina

Toole Origins before 1735

1-936-858-3801 http://www.ballistic.com/~vcates

John Toole/Mary Manion or Madigan, Ireland > NY > MI

I am a descendant of John Toole, who appears in the 1860 Census in Groveland, Livingston Co, NY with his wife, Mary, and daughters Margaret, Ellen and Mary, ages 4, 2, and 1, respectively. By the 1870 census, the family had relocated permanently to Mt. Morris, Genesee Co, MI. My great-grandfather, David John O'Toole (he replaced the "O"), was born in May of 1868 to John and Mary at the family homestead in Mt. Morris, MI. David was married in about 1898 at Mt. Morris St. Mary's to Glennie A. Mills, d/o James Lewis Mills and Alice C. Stanley.

According to the research of Gerald O'Toole (grandson of David), John first appears in the Genesee County Tax Registration of 1870, and is listed as the owner of a homesteaded section of land bordered on the north by Mt. Morris Road, on the east by Clio Road, on the south by Stanley Road, and on the west by Jennings Road.

According to family oral tradition, John and Mary were born in County Cork, Ireland, he in 1834 and she in 1833. Their tombstones at Calvary Cemetary (behind Mt. Morris St. Mary's) corroborate the birth years. I have no other information on Mary, other than family speculation that her maiden name was either Manion or Madigan. I am told, however, that John arrived in the United States from County Cork at 7 years of age. I do not have names for anyone in his birth family and, with such scant information, I have been unable to determine where he lived between 1841 and 1860.

I would be very grateful for any information about either John or Mary, however insignificant it may seem, and would be happy to share what I have.

Thanks in advance,

Kellie
Does anyone know anything about this? Is this record correct?
Also, I have found conflicting Military Records for Adam Tool.
One is for Adam Tool 7th Reg't (Saunders) Virginia Militia, Private, War of 1812. The other Adam Tool Kentucky soldiers of the War of 1812. Miller's Regiment. U. S. Infantry. Who is the Adam Tool in KY? Could someone please clear this up for me.
Searching for Luke Toole

I am trying to trace my great grandfather Luke Toole and his sister Ellen who came to London from Dublin c.1870s. Who was their mother? Their father was another Luke Toole who was a coachman.
Luke junior married in 1881 Sarah Chedgy and Ellen married in 1873 William Casey, also from Dublin. Can anyone help? Luke was born c.1850. Ellen was born c.1846-1848.
Luke senior was, I believe, alive in 1873 but had died by 1881. When and where did he die? Where was he born and whom did he marry? Any other siblings for Luke and Ellen?

Ellen's marriage to William Casey took place in a Wesleyan Chapel in London. Is this any help? I would love to find out when and where they were born (although I believe it was in Dublin)

ED (ED L./EDGAR/EDWARD) TOOLE M. 1880 CLARKE COUNTY, GEORGIA

Seeking descendents of Ed (Ed L./Edgar/Edward) Toole m. December 13, 1880, in Clarke County, Georgia, to Louisa/Laura Chancey. Ed Toole, son of Manning Toole and Mary D. Greene, was listed with his parents on the 1880 census of Oconee County, Georgia. They are suppose to have reared a family in and around Watkinsville and Athens. He may have been farming in the area, probably as a sharecropper, around 1915-1917. He may have died around 1925. Family stories relate that either he or one of his sons was shot and killed in a store robbery about 1911. That there was a trial and the murderers/robers only received a seven year sentence. The information does not match, but this is all the information I have on this branch of the family.
Vivian Toole Cates, Rt. #2 Box 52-A, Alto, Texas 75925
vcates@ballistic.com http://www.ballistic.com/~vcates

Toole-Cox Family

Hello,

I'm looking for any information on my father's side of the family.
His name is Jessic Cox, but I need information on his father and
grandmother. His father's name was Jesse Cox, he was born in MS.
And his grandmother's name was Ivery Cox-Toole. My grandfather
was raised by his mother and step-father. He lived in Alligator,
MS and married my grandmother, Ellen in 1943 and divorced in 1946,
after my dad was born. Later he remarried and lived in Chicago, IL until
his death on 2-23-96. He also had a sister named Darlene Toole-Rodger who
lived in Memphis until her death in the early 1990's I believe some family
members may still live in Alligator and some in Chicago. I know that he had
more children after my dad. If you have any information, please e-mail me.
