Unfortunately I am unable to trace the birth of my grandfather John Thomas Treadwell, except in his army discharge papers where he gave his birth date as 1st Sep 1868, in Battersea, Lambeth, London, there is no trace of this birth in the Registry in London. Consequently I have also been unable to track my great grandfather John Treadwell. On John Thomas's marriage certificate his father is named John Treadwell and his occupation was Postman, presumeably in London.
