Classification: Query
Surnames: Vaughn, Norris
I am searching for my 2nd great-grandfather, William Vaughn. I know there were several Vaughns living in Owen County during the time period. He was b. NC, ca. 1825, and d. ca. 1865, I don't know where. He may have been in civil war.
He married Kate Norris, 11 May, 1857, in Greene County, IN. I am trying to find out if he had brothers and sisters, and who his parents were.
There was a William Vaughn in 59th Regiment, IN Infantry, Company E, and I am not sure this is him. This Regiment was supposedly mustered in in Logansport, which is way up north. Would they be mustered in that far from Owen and Greene County?
I am puzzled.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance.
