William Harvey Wise - d.1903

I am looking for information regarding William Harvey Wise. He died in 1903 after being attacked on his way home.

I understand that he was married at least 2 if not 3 times. He was married to an "Ann" with the last name of Tesner or Arrowood. Possible that Ann was also called "Maggie" as she is listed on the 1910 census with my Great grandfather & mother James & Martha Hicks as Maggie Arrowood.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have information on these two? Here's what I know (or think I know) so far:

Andrew Wise was born in Switzerland. Catherine Brier was born in Prussia. They married and had three children: Mary Wise b 1857, Joseph Wise b 1859, and John Wise b 1862. They lived in Blackford County, Indiana.

Does anyone know anything about their parents or their dates of birth/death? Thanks!

Trying to find information regarding Daniel Wise (1826-1893) in Fulton County Ohio. I believe he married Catherine Single (born abt 1832 -?) abt 1847 in Henry Co. Ohio, and from this union had my gg grandfather William H. Wise(and others) but haven't had any luck locating parents or possible siblings for him. Also the whereabouts of his wife after his death in 1893. I have his burial in Wauseon Ohio, but can't find his wife in the cemetery or death records. Any and all help that anyone can provide regarding him, his parents, siblings, and other children would be tremendously appreciated! Thanks!

I'm hoping I might be able to find someone who is related or has info about this family. Anna May Wise b: Abt. 1885 in IL (probably Chicago). Her parents according to one of her descendants are John & Martha Buckloo Wise. John was born in NY & Martha was born either on NY or PA. Family lore says Martha Buckloo was Native American (yet to be proved). Obe family story has John & Martha in OK shortly before his death (whenever that was).
Somehow or another, Anna ends up in Lansdowne, Delaware Co., PA married to a native to the county, Elmo Saunders (b:27 Aug 1881) and where she remained.
If anyone has any information or can help in anyway, I would really appreciate it.

Doing Civil War research in Macomb County, Michigan. Have obit of an Israel Wise, born in West Virginia November 23, 1844. According to obit, he served in Civil War. He moved to Mt. Clemens, Michigan in 1919 where he passed away in 1932. Seeking info on unit he served in, service record, if he served under alias, or whatever else can be supplied. Have not been able to identify him, his unit, etc. He was married in 1867 to Caroline L. Hillery. Had one son (Thomas) and two daughters, one was Etta and other one was Mrs. Arie Dell Johnson of W. I am looking for William Wise who would have been from Clearfield Co PA. His father would have been Alfred and his mother Mary. He was my grandfather's brother but nobody talked about him that I know of. I was just little and they didn't talke around children. I didn't know my grandfather had another brother, he had Ellsworth Wise and he was like a grandfather to me, but until I started geneology I didn't know about William. My grandparents named their first son William, but I don't know if it was after his uncle or not. I could not find any mention in census after the 1900's in Clearfield Co.

I have reached a dead end with ou ancestors before they came to Stark County, Ohio in 1809-1814 range. My ancestor is John Wise (1780-1853) he married Barbara Auble (1782-1863) from Lebanon, PA. They had 8 children (Michael, George, Margaret, Elizabeth, Catherine, Mary Anne, Joseph, and Lewis). We are descended from George. I have an original newspaper article that announces the death of Henry Wise who lived in Lincoln Co., N.C. and died 3/29/1877. It gives details of his death which was caused from a wagon accident. He is my gg grandfather.

Like many of you, I am descended from Richard Wise who immigrated from England around 1680 to settle in St. Mary’s County, MD. I have collected a huge amount of information on this family from a variety of sources, with a family tree that is rapidly approaching 7000 people.

Unfortunately, not all of the information I have found can be verified. For every name I add I try to verify that it is correct from multiple sources. But, as many of you know, finding good information from the 1600 and 1700’s can be difficult at best.

Which leads me to my question. Does anyone KNOW if Richard Wise of St. Mary’s County MD is related to John Wise who immigrated to Accomack County VA in I believe about 1635? I currently have John Wise as the uncle of Richard Wise; Richard’s father being William Wise, the brother of John Wise.

I am seen this theorized in a multitude of places, but nothing concrete to back it up. I am currently in the process of putting together a Wise family tree book for members of my immediate family, and before I go digging up Census images, draft registration cards, death certificates, wills, obits, etc. for all of the VA Wise’s, I would like to feel a little more sure that they actually belong to my line of Wise’s, however distantly.

I have already chased this family from England to Maryland to Pennsylvania, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Missouri, and my legs are getting really tired. Can someone tell me that the voyage into the Virginia Wise family is correct?

I have a public family tree uploaded to ancestry.com. It is titled The Wise Family (clever, huh?) by Robert Wise (wisers127). The information presented there is what it is. A lot of it will be correct, but I know that there are errors as well. It is my hope that by making it publicly available, others will find errors and contact me with corrections.

They had two children Mary K. born in Seattle in 1912 and John b. abt. 1919 in California. I am particularly interested in their daughter, Mary K. On the 1930 census Mary K. Wise Wagner is living with her parents in Inglewood, Los Angeles Co. and is listed as married.

According my father-in-law (now deceased) Mary K. was adopted. John Wise was a civil engineer and worked on the Panama Canal. The family is listed on a passenger list dated 1915 from Cristobal, Canal Zone to New York and Mary K. is listed as age 3 born in Seattle.

Nothing else is known about Mary K. Any information on what happened to her would be greatly appreciated.
