For anyone researching the Joseph Zinda/Justina Steep children, most esp. son Joseph Zinda and wife Victoria Hanke, I have a question. There is a birth record for a Stephen Zinda, b. 23 September 1901, Swift Co., MN, father Zinda, mother Hanke. This is 7 days after the birth record for Josephine Zinda, born to Joseph and Victoria. Josephine is found with her parents in subsequent censuses. Stephen is found with his grandmother, Rose Hanke, who is Victoria's mother. He is indeed indicated as her grandson. Can anyone tell me who this Stephen is, for certain? Also living with Rose Hanke in 1910, are three other children also listed as her grandchildren: Sisse, Eddy, and Frank Hyleski. Also with her is daughter, Kitty (Katherine) listed as widowed. Could any of these children be Katherine's? I have seen listed as two possibilities of Katherine's husband as Kubeshaski and Sadogierski, but I have found proof of neither, and now are these Hyleski children....and a Zinda out of place. If anyone can help me with these relations, I would really appreciate it. I am happy to share any information I have on this family. Thanks!!
