Trying to trace the history of the Grybas family name. My grandfather was Joseph Grybas who lived in Sydney Australia. He fled Lithunia during the war,to Germany and shortly after was deported to Australia with wife sallamina, and children Grazina, Joseph, Viginia, and Dala. My grandfather own a successful sausage or smallgoods factory employing over 100 staff in the city if caunis before his business was destroyed due to the war. If anyone can supply me any information about my family history it would be much apprectiated. Thankyou

Dear Mark,
Charles Grybas(Grebos) immigrated to the US wtih his wife Amelia Grebos (Nehls). They had two daughters and five sons. Settled in Pennsylvania before a young death about 1925 at about age 47. The family was split up but kept in touch with each other to a small degree. My father was George born in Nov. 1920 and just passed away Jan. 10, 2001. He worked for the US Gov. for 43 years as a electronic specialist. His wife of 50 years Yolanda resides in N.J. Have you ever heard of Charles Grebos(Grybas)? I am wondering where he is interred in Pennsylvania. He was my Grandfather....never got to meet him...

Mark, are you still looking for information about your GRYBAS roots in Kaunas, Lithuania, before they went to Germany and then were deported to Australia?

You left your note nine years ago. I am researching GRYBAS (GREBAS, GRIBAS) in the United States.

The most famous GRYBAS I know of in Australia was the soccer commentator Clinton Grybas, who died young a couple of years ago. Any relation to you?
