Surnames: SCOULLER SMITH INGLISS HAMILTON GIBSON BROWN OSBORNE ANSON MORRIS BACON
Wow Landen,

What an effort...unfortunately none of my Scoullers seem to match with yours.
I have a cousin who has done all of the researching, but unfortunately has not given me placenames - only dates.

We go as far back as Thomas SCOULLER/Grissell SMITH - parents of John SCOULLER - b: circa 1681
Married Marion SMITH abt 1702 - children:
*Thomas: 1705
John 1706
William 1707
James 1709
David 1712
Thomas marries Elizabeth INGLISS and has 2 Children:
John 1729
*Joseph 1738
Then marries Isobel HAMILTON and has a further 7 children
Joseph marries Marion GIBSON about 1759 - they promptly have at least 4 children:
Margaret 1760
Ann 1762
Marion 1764
*John 1767 b Craigmill
John marries Margaret BROWN - 15 May 1801 - They reside at Kittoch Mill near East Kilbride. They have at least 3 children:
*John 1804
Joseph 1811
Helen 1816
This next John marries Margaret OSBORNE - 11th June 1830
Living at Gardrum Mill near Fenwick - he was a farmer and miller for 50 years. They have oodles of children - 11 of them..amongst them - the immigrants:
John 1831 - emigrates to Australia
*Robert - 1832 - emigrates to Australia
Thomas 1847 - emigrates to USA
Agnes 1849 - emigrates to USA
Walter 1853 - emigrates to Canada
Robert marries Mary ANSON, they also have 11 offspring! The eldest, John b Oct 1861, marries Margaret MORRIS in 1889 Australia - They have 7 children - amongst them,
Ethel b 1895 - marries Harold Henry BACON in 1923.
They have 3 children - one, John SCOULLER BACON 1927-95, was my Father-in-Law.
I believe my son born 1993, also a John SCOULLER BACON to be the last in Australia to carry the SCOULLER name in his direct line. I could be wrong - I am happy to be corrected!

Could we possibly have siblings right back at the beginning?

Happy researching!
Bronny

Well...I don't suppose that you could run the names I posted to the board (the oldest of my tree) and show them to your cousin? <BG>

Our branch of the Scoullar family (George and Hiram) migrated to Australia from New Brunswick, Cananda around 1852. Originally in Victoria, one branch moved to Queensland in 1910. There are also Scouller family living in Chinchilla, Queensland Australia, but have no direct links.

Other siblings moved across the States from Mass. to California (Mexico). One sister in Kansas, but there were 13 children in all, and widely travelled,

Father, William migrated to Canada with his father James and family around 1800 from Scotland.

Would love to hear from anyone with links.

Hi Landen:

Some of the names you list do hit an accord with some research I am doing for my late wife's cousin. Generation 4 lists William Scouller and Agnes Foord and their offspring, one of whom is Benjamine Schooler who married Mary Murray. This is a connection in my tree going into the Renton's, Ure's and Cunningham's. My wife was a Cunningham.

Do you have any further information on the union of Benjamine Schooler and Mary Murray and their descendents or ancestors.

Thanks for your help.

Alex

Hiram Scoullar killed in a plane crash in 1931 was a cousin or second cousin of my father. I'm not sure if they new each other. Dad lived in Queensland then and did not go back to Victoria until during WW2.

My grandfather and GGrandfather were both named Hiram, so chances are if the name is there it's a relation.

Cheers,

Rhonda

The spelling of the name is wrong. It should be Scoullar. A common mistake. The plaque is erected by the other person's daughter.
