Is this the same Jacob Shires that served in the CSA?
He was captured at Missionary Ridge? Jacob and his father appear
to be listed in the Maury County, Tennessee CSA units formed.
Christian N. is listed as living in Obion County in 1904.

Jacob Shires is my ggg grandfather. I attached information up to Christian Napolean Shires, but have hit a brick wall with him. I know he was a "Duck River Rifleman" in Company G 24th Tennessee Volunteer Infantry and was living in Obion County in 1904. If anyone has any information on him or anyone related to this line please email me directly at lyndspooh@hotmail.com. I am also trying to find the Shires Memorial Cemetery. Apparently there are quite a few shires cemeteries...any info would be great!
thanks

I think you may be referring to my mothers side of the family. Nancy had sons- I have heard interesting stories of "red headed Nancy" who was unmarried at the time but had a lover by the name of King. Thus.... Sons.... James Harvey Thomas married Caroline Applegate, William Jackson Thomas, b.1818 in SC, d. after 1870 in Panola Co. His wife was Lucy Jane (Powers) Thomas b.1841, in MS, d. after 1870 in Panola, Co. Married in 1856 in Panola Co.

Does anyone know who and how the name M. E Stanfield connects with the Thomas clan?
