My IMAN family starts with grandmother FLORENCE IMAN b 3 Dec 1876 in Clifton KS to ANDREW J IMAN of WV and MARY JANE GRIFFITH. ANDREW was son of WILLIAM IMAN and LUCINDA MALCOLM, and WILLIAM b. 1821 in WV was son of EMANUEL IMAN. This info is pretty well documented and would love working together with another decendant of EMANUEL'S. Happy Hunting ! !

My g g g grandfather, Cornelius E. Iman was the son of Emanuel Iman and Barbara Sites/Sietz. Unfortuneately, I don't even have any dates for them. This all the further back I've been able to trace the family. I would appreciate any information anyone is willing to share.

Thanks,
Latreacha

Everything I have found seems to put all of we IMAN families in the Hardy Co W VA area and then on back to Germany. Let me study my notes and I'll have more suggestions later for our combined research. More later!

Hello everybody. My husband is an Iman and over the years I have collected whatever I could find on Iman's on the off chance that I might find a connection. I have an article from Muzzle Blasts magazine from January 1988 about Cornelius Iman being a gunsmith. This article tells about him being in the Union Army , gives a physical description of him, tells his parents, wife, and children. Talks about the guns he made. So far I haven't found a connection to my Iman's, but if anyone would like this information I would be glad to share it. Sherri Iman

Sherri, I would love to have a copy of the article. Cornelius Iman was my g g g grandfather. After my grandfather died this past November, I found a note he had written about his ancestors. I can't find the copy of the note at the moment, as I will be moving 3 days, but it mentioned one of the guns he had made being in an antique store. I think it said something about a crack in the barrel. Anyway, I would appreciate a copy of the article. Please email me at ltufo@accelernet.net.

Thank you!

I am also descended from Cornelius Iman and would love any info anyone can give me. He is my ggg grandfather on my mothers side of the family. I would love to talk with anyone that is also related. Especially anyone from his son Abraham Walter Iman that married Mary Cosner.
Thanks,
